sucks that you had a bad experiance on ebay. I know people who swear by it. I've only bought shirts from it but it's been good to me when I did that. Sucks for you thouhg. We all know losing a good mic is like losing a close friend. I feel for you in your time of loss.

Sorry to hear it dB. The whole site unseen thing has always bothered me.

Take it to noise. I'll bet he may be able to resurect it. Not a whole lot inside one. Can't loose much.

I swear by eBay. I've bought lots of stuff from there (sold some, too) and it's all been good. It sounds like your problem has to do with the manufacturer.
Let your seller know about the problem, sound a little pissed-yet-polite in your email, and they may replace it for you. Or they may say to take it up with Oktava. It all depends on whether they can return the mic to the company for a replacement and whether they are a consiencious (sp) seller or not. If you're really unhappy with the seller after that exchange, tell them you'll leave negative feedback if it's not resolved. (don't threaten, though, or they'll give you neg. feeback too)
Sorry about your bad luck... :(

You can see that by going to eBay, logging into your account (it's under "My eBay", link is at the top of the front page), and looking at your list of recent purchases. The seller's handle will be there, and you can even see their feedback to see if others have had this problem too.
Dude, eBay is great... it's the world's biggest garage sale... you just have to watch out for the folks running the tables... :)

No, I looked, the handle for the shockmount seller is there, but not the other seller...

and no, eBay ****** blows and I will never shop there again, this is not the first issue with eBay I have had as a buyer or seller. It's been a pain in the *** every time I bought or sold and I only went back there for this cuz half the members of the site bought a mic from this chick...

That's unusual. Do you need to adjust the number of days of purchase history that are shown? Another way to find that record would be to login to your account, click Feedback tab, then get the auction # either from feedback that was left for you, or click the "Leave Feedback" button to have the site pull up any transactions where you haven't left feedback before.
If all else fails, call Support....
Too bad about your deal gone sour.... my condolences.

yeah - it sounds like your real beef is with Oktava dB, not ebay ;)

I use ebay all the time and haven't run into any serious problems as of yet (touch wood).

jues.

not even close jues, like I said, this isn't my first ebay related lame-ity. I hate Ebay, but as I said, so many people here had GOOD experiences with it I tried again, sure enough, I got jacked again.

I have WAY more ebay experience than I care to admit to from previous jobs...

Lost for words with all to say.

I feel you dB. My Aardvark 20/20+ outputs doesn't work, and you think my seller will respond back about this. Yeah right. He even forgot to send the cable that was suppose to come with the Aarkvark. Email ebay about the seller, ebay will but a "mark" in their record. Way to go ebay, please don't be too harsh!!

I've have countless great transactions on ebay but when you get one, especially when it turns out you just blew 300 bucks, you're ready to go burn someones house down!!

This hasn't been the only time I've been burnt on ebay. Right when you try again to get a deal. They're there ready to fork you in the butt!

I've never had a problem... I even had a seller accidently send me an extra copy of SONAR 2. I am currently waiting for a video camera that is supposed to arrive the 27th. It's an older Panasonic 1/2" CCDx3 dockable camera... probably could have gotten it cheaper but it was still 1/4 what an XL1s goes for and twice as good (provided everything works :) )

I've had plenty of problems with Guitar Center (though primarily the company they use for shipping)... and I've never seen an octiva mic work properly... i mean... it's Russian for christs sake! :)

It does sound like something that would be covered by the manufacturers warrenty.
