My M-Audio 2496 just started making a wierd sound after the computer is shutdown. It's like a slighty fuzz synth lead. Not sure what I did to activate it as it has never done this before. Any ideas?

Oct 08, 2003 02:27 pm Whenever I turn my computer off my soundcard makes an odd "fizzle" type sound, nothing to worry about really.
Oct 08, 2003 02:40 pm Mine makes this wild, awesome lazer sound when I shut it off with my monitors still on! It's pretty scary when you're not expecting it. I'd like to record it, but I need my computer to be on to do that :(
Oct 08, 2003 03:25 pm Yah thats it, it sounds like a funky lazer. So you guys think its o.k? I changed drivers and went back and it didnt change anything.
Oct 08, 2003 06:50 pm I would imagine it's fine. Could it be that you've just never had your speakers turned on until lately?
Oct 09, 2003 02:43 am No, I have had the computer over a year. My most recent change was a new vid card, but the sound took another 2 weeks to start.
