Sep 27, 2003 09:05 pm Gave the tracks a listen. Experimental is a good description. The audio was not real high quality, the musicianship is ok. I will say that the applause does not sound like it was recorded in the same place. Was the applause track recorded with differant mics or what? It almost sounds as though the applause was added on top of the recordings. Where parts of the performance pre-recorded or where there multiple musicians playing?
Sep 28, 2003 12:05 am The audio is actually very good, its just the horrible besonic.com I don't know why, but they perverted the sound so bad. I'm just using them until the songs get approved on mp3.com The applause was handled with different mics. However, the performance is all me at one time with some loop pedals and such. Only canned sound was the "Idioteque" computer riff which i had to manipulate around the song anyway.

Sep 30, 2003 09:54 am !?!?! Is that article really about the same Derek Dubois?!?
:-o
Sep 30, 2003 09:55 am it would appear so. Seems like a lousy way to get publicity, at someone else's expense, but ya, I think that's him.

Sep 30, 2003 11:25 am i wouldnt take too much notice of mtv...
Sep 30, 2003 01:34 pm Ya it is me, but it was also two years ago. My dad never took away my recording equipment, just told the press that to give the illusion he was punishing me. go vikes, if you knew the whole story you wouldnt be saying that, however, its too long ago for me to care about any more. obviously i have moved away from joke songs anyway
Sep 30, 2003 01:38 pm Oh, I am not saying you did it to intentionally get publicity, I totally didn't mean it to sound that way sorry, rereading it, it totally sounds like that. My thought was that you probably did make it as a joke and that fact it got you that kind of attention musta kinda sucked...of course, as a 14 year old, any attention of that magnitude is pretty cool, with the exception of the whole legal charges part...
Sep 30, 2003 03:25 pm Thats the thing, no legal charges, the worst i got was a ten day suspension, the only reason all of the publicity exploded was because i challenged the suspension, only went to school board not to court, i still have no record hahah. i did lose adn had to be suspended but oh well.
Sep 30, 2003 03:26 pm also sorry go vikes, i didnt mean to snap, i understand where you were coming from now

Sep 30, 2003 07:35 pm siobud, yeah I am well aware that this may be getting edited later but here goes:
You didn't play that live at a talent show, that is a sample of applause that was layed over teh music, you say it was a small talent show, well the applause sounds like it was a few hundred people... that's not very small. A lot of us have been playing with samples long enough to tell the difference. Stop lying, grow up, and make some decent music.
Sep 30, 2003 07:48 pm I'm glad someone finally said it.
