drum machine tutorial

im having trouble with midi, i have no clue really how it works, and my computer says i have no idea what the problem is. i have set the outputs to everything i have... i am basically trying to map drums, but i cant even bring up the score editor. do i have to have a controller?

do you mean in Sonar? let us know exactly what program (sequencer, sound generator) you're using and what you're trying to do with them.

Yes it will be much easier if you can tell us what program you are using. Each program is a bit differant as too how they set up the drums. And what exactly do you mean by score editer?

i never learnt how to do that in cubase...this article might be useful though - all the stuff here wont cost anything either...

i've never used Cubase, but i understand it supports VSTi thereby opening up a whole world of software samplers and synthesizers.

you soound like you're just starting out. have you tried reading the manual?

I used a drum machine plugin in cubase sx. All you need to do is open a midi track, select the ins and outs to make sure that they are the correct ones, select the drum machine as the VST instrament, and then use your MIDI keyboard to control the drum sounds.
