Aug 15, 2003 03:16 am well, i think the price is a major factor. For that $ you can get an awesome analog desk with decent quality pres and very little noise. spend the $ you save on mics and effects to attach to it.
in fact, you got me thinking... what are the advantages of a digital mixer?
Aug 15, 2003 05:00 am Analog. Digital would be cool for automation and things like that, but I am not paying that much money for a mixer.

Aug 15, 2003 09:15 am I would personally reccomend the Soundcraft E series of mixers - very affordable and excellent pre-amps (better than the berry's IMHO.)
As for the advantages of a digital desk - automation and a true digital signal path - two very important factors that simply can't be overlooked.

Aug 18, 2003 12:53 am look into the Aardvark Direct Pro Q10... it has served me very nicely. it has a built in dsp processor that is controlled via software to act like a mixer with controls on screen. so i guess this makes it a mixer but it is all you need. it too many features for me to list here and not receive commision, lol

Aug 18, 2003 09:26 am I like the sound of analog desks for the most part, I like the EQ and things on that nature, but a decent digital mixer would be nice. I have having to do things with my mouse and keyboard and would, if I had the money, buy a digital mixer to act as a control surface. I do wish however that they would set up a digital mixer just like an old analog mixer, with the eq and faders and master section all the same. Digital mixers don't have enough knobs and stuff on them for me right now. hehe. I recomend a behringer mixer, although my dream mixer right now is a soundcraft ghost 32... those are sweet.
