i have both , triggers and mic's . Triggers are great because ( if ya do it right) you don't have to spend half the day tuning the drums for recording . With atrigger set up , you have to have the triggers , the price ranges is from a few $ ( pin tech) and up , i use DDrum and they work well with my Alesis DM-pro ( you hasve to have a "brain" with trigger ) , one of the better prossesors is the Alesis DM-5 , for the money . Hoestly if money is kinda tight , i'd wait for a while or jusr mic your kit , it's less expensive .

What?!

You mean V-Drums?! Eurcgh! Hate the things. They sound so cheesy and fake. Mic'ing up a kick, altough a daunting prospect, is actually not that hard if you can take the time to relax and experiment. I can also reccomend the exact set of mic's I'd use as well to ensure a good sound.

jues.

Nah, I like to keep you all in suspense.

I'll do it bit by bit - SM57 on the snare.

is true with bass drum triggers.... if you do some quick bass kicks (double bass runs etc.) and say youre a little un even... will it even it up and keep it consistent?
