Soooo,
Any good movies you folks hate or love
I'd love to know what you watch and what you think about how Hollywood makes it look.
And what about the movies you watch to enjoy. What do you get to watch?
I just watched the TV version of "Heartbreak Ridge". The censors detuned it somewhat, but the guys in the movie should have been in a beer commercial (they were hunk/models and I'm heterosexual). I was expecting them to save Britney Spears. Ar! Ar!

i can't speak for the rest of the forces but guess what man , we like the same movies as the rest of you . I personally try and avoid military flix , but Black hawk down was a good representation ( i watched it with black hawk members in pakistan a week before it was out in the states ) . Right now the buzz in Iraq is Bruce almighty and the hulk ( and i just watched 28 days later )

I kinda figured so. I thought it was a dumb question after I hit submit and looked at it again. Ha!
I thought "Heartbreak Ridge" was dumb but OK, I like anything with Clint in it.

It's pretty sad to know that the scene in Heartbreak Ridge where they called in an airstrike with a long distance collect call really happened...along with the operator saying "Are you for real?"

"In the Army Now" was required watching when I went through basic at Fort Sill because a couple of my drill sergeants were in it...and I had the same barber/hair butcher... I left his chair bleeding...

media culture really influences military culture and atleast for reserve units (or units who like to screw around a lot) the common radio check is "Can you hear me now?"

I'm also working on a screenplay about my deployment experiences (more of a dramatic comedy with some action).

Also being in the JAG corps. I get alot of "Is it like the TV show?" to which I reply "No... real life is more of a comedy." ... I've never met any special forces commando/pilot/attourny officers... but I have met a special forces sapper admininstative NCO...he was weird... :/
