Hi everybody, I'm new here. I don't really have experience in music recording I hope to learn few tricks here. :)

I play metal and I want to put drums on my tracks I don't really know which softwares should be the best to create drum tracks. I need to get the most natural and realist feel possible. I don't have any gears to work with midi.

I've try the Groove agent vsti demo cause it seem to be easy to work. But I got no sound and the tutorial for the demo is not really explicative.

There is a best softwares of plugins than the Groove agent or any others ways for creating easy realistic drum track?

thank. :) (sorry for my bad english)

I use Samplitude 6.05 with a Echo Mia soundcard.(You can also see my profile)

Hi, and welcome. Great user-id BTW, lol! This question has come up a few times recently and while I and many members use FruityLoops, with varying results, there are a few other options out there. I've gotten some decent sounding drums with FruityLoops, but ultimately if you want to sound "metal", you'll need a real live drum kit and tons of mics, a mixer for preamps and a multi-channel soundcard :O(. Of course there's always the industrial metal route, mizing obviously electronix drums with guitar + bass + vox for that static-x, ministry, fear factory, nine inch mailsy feel, that's what I think I'm going for ;O). FruityLoops will be prefect for sequencing those kind of drums.

So I recommend you download the FruityLoops demo and check it out for yourself. It has a smooth leraning curve and a simple friendly interface, but it's powerful enough to grow with you ans to learn more and more about sound production ;O) peas -j

Thanks, that help me a lot, sorry for the repetitive treat. Fear Factory got a great drum sound, especially on The Demanufature album. If I can get a sound similar to this I have no problem using software fruityloops.I'm going to try the demo right now. :)

actually, i'm pretty sure the drums in Demanufacture are all real drum kit. I was thinking more of the techno sound they have on uh.. i'm not sure what albums or songs. If I can think of it, I'll let you know.

But those fast thrash metal beats would be easy to fake in FruityLoops with some nice realistic drum samples and a little patience. Those drummers work hard to try and sound all mechanical like that!

I got the demo now, I will studying it a bit. The interface seem cool at first look. It sure I will need some good realistic drum samples later.

heres some good free hits I use with frootyloops www.euronet.nl/users/flipillu/drumsamples.html
www.proaudiolab.com/free.html
I think Ive tried every thing, I learned on digitonix element(like frooty loops but easier) now I get some pretty tricky beats and fills on F/L.If you use cooledit they have free files called looposonic, but only work on cooledit. In the end after master frooty loops you'll find it pretty amazing
