Connecting Mixer

I just recently got my Behringer UB1204pro mixer. I also have a Delta 66 card. The Delta book gives one example of connecting your Instruments and Mics directly into the cards Breakout Box(through a midiman). I bought the mixer to use the preamps, insted of the midiman. I thought I was to run the Instruments & Mics into the Mixer; then from there into the Breakout Box INS. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

yup, you want to:

mics/instruments > mixer > Delta66

which "midiman" are you using? I have an "AudioBuddy". Right now the Audio Buddy is going into Delta Ins 1/2 and my Behringer mixer is going into Delta Ins 3/4.

Thank's for the response. I don't have a Midiman; I was under the assumption that if I had a mixer I didn't need it...you know, 'cause of the preamp's. Maybe I misunderstood someone. So, it's ok to just run my mic into my mixer..then the mixer into the Delta Ins...without a Midiman?

certainly. any preamp will do. all you're doing is boosting the instrument or mic up to line level.

i'm still guessing the Midiman Audio Buddy is what you're referring to? The Audio Buddy is just a dual preamp/direct box. It would go between your instruemnts/mics and your soundcard, just like you're doing with your mixer.

Sorry for not clarifing..Yes, I was referring to The Audio Buddy; I see some have the Audio Buddy, as well as a mixer. I just thought I might be missing something. While were talking about my set up..where would I hook my speakers too? I would guess the outs on the Breakout Box...right? Boy, I feel like these are stupid question's!

i hook my home stereo up to the Delta 44's Outs 1/2 and assign them as "Monitor Mixer" in the Delta control panel. You could also send the Delta's output back into mixer. I'll let someone else comment on that.

I just have the AudioBuddy as some extra preamps :O)
