Every year, families and friends get together on this day to celebrate and blow @#$ up. I've always loved this holiday, it's the one that seems to not change that much as you grow from a child to an adult, you still get gitty when you see fireworks, and I don't think anyone young or old will turn down a BBQ. Yes indeed this is a good time of year. It helps us realize somewhat of our self’s and our great home we live in, and to know that is just delightful. To all HRC members happy Independence day. Even to our friend across the pond,have a good time what ever you do today.

Gotta love a holiday that combines drinking and blowing stuff up. Add a rifle range and some strippers and it's the ultimate male holiday. :-D
Oh, speaking of rifle ranges, my wife and I are taking the conceal and carry classes to get the permits our state now allows :-D

noam chomsky is cool. i just saw president bush on NBC or something, doing a canned speech for a show that has kelly clarkson, sheryl crow, and justin timberlake "performing". here's to hoping that next year's july 4th won't be a celebration of mind-numbing hypocrisy.
don't get me wrong though. i hope all you troops come back ASAP and give iraq back to the iraqis. none of you ever deserved to have to fight and die for rich old white men (fortunate sons) and their favorite corporations. i hope everyone has a chance to reflect and see what we've done, then get straight and realize that these people up top have to go.

so much for freedom for iraqis. how bizarre is it that not only will shameless AWOL shrub play mr fighter pilot for a campaign-destined photo op, but he'll spend the 4th of july with soldiers? why is this man immune simply because he's president??? look at what we've done!
