OK, I have a Audigy 2 soundcar and it worked great for a while.... now i have 3 drivers to shoose from....Creatice driver=no latency but a horrible crackling....almost clipping sound its horrible, now the other drivers have latency on the meters, but not in the wave...its wierd now with those 2.... the quality is out of this world....beutiful but it records what is being played back...like i lay my drum tracks down...and then go to record the bass line and the drumtracks record onto his baseline....its like drumtracks are bleeding into everything...therefore i have NO control over any volumes...PLEASE help!!!

What application are you using to record? Actually this problem is quite common, but how to resolve may be the fault of the SoundBlaster card (not exactly meant for home recording) or how you are routing your signals into and out of the app...

Routing signals is basically, what source are you telling each track to record from? Also, are you using in midi to record? You might check your audio preferences check to see if the the what you hear setting is checked in your recording options. If it is, un-check it.

AK Redline, we mean how it's routed in software. SoundBlaster cards are tricky for pro audio use because they're meant for games and stuff.

I have a an SB Live so I'm not sure if it'll be the same for your Audigy, but I have to goto into my "Creative Launcher" program, select the "Volume" tab, and under the dropdown menu for selecting my recording source I have to choose "Line-In" or "Line-In2" or whatever source, NOT "What you Hear". The "What You Hear" option will record just that, all the sounds that are being played at once.

BTW, I use a second soundcard, an M-Audio Delta 44, for all my serious work. It's a rock-solid 4 in 4 out beast that supports professional TRS 1/4" +4dB balanced cables. It's designed for this stuff. And it cost me about as much as an Audigy would. I keep the SoundBlaster in there just for playing games and Windows sounds and movies and stuff.

Every component in your PC can contribute to the success and/or failure of a PC-based studio. a CPU is plays as critical of a role as anything else...that said, however, a 2.3 Ghz shouldbe fine...a Celeron is the low-end of Pentium, not nearly as powerful as their big brothers, but should still be plenty capable.

No problems to report here, but then I did specificly choose my motherboard becuase I knew it didn't have any compatability problems with my soundcard. (I run an Asus P4S533-E).

The only real problem I have is running out of CPU, but then I get quite carried away on my tracks :)
