Last time I posted here was Nov 29th 2005. (I had to search for it here).

(Hola DB!...Where's Noize?)

I will bore you with the history lesson later. Let's just say I may be getting back into the swing of things with the audio production. So I may be dropping in here more. I lost my taste in rap for the most part. I will be making a run at doing some ambient groove stuff.

Things have certainly changed in just over 6 years since my last post. I kept all my gear except for my Korg Triton LE.

In the past few weeks I picked up the M-Audio KS61, a Focusrite Saffire 6 USB, Cubase 6 and I will hopefully be picking up Omnisphere and a partridge in a pear tree soon.

DUDE! Whassup!

I have just been getting back into it as well, good to see you are too. Stop by any time, we are still kickin here at HRC!

Noize is around, watches threads from email but doesn't say much, he's pretty busy in the local scene road crew, running sound, recording, sound design and stuff...oh, and his real job...saw him at a Corey Stevens show a week or two ago.

Deebs...I see that and I am beyond glad its still going! It's a trip going through old posts and seeing how technology has changed since I was last active. It's evident this place impacted me well enough to come back once I began dabbling again.

Abbreviated timeline:

2005 - Got girlfriend pregnant, moved into rental house. Broke.
2006 - Had my son (Damon), Sold the Triton LE. Still broke.
2007 - Got married to the GF. Son turned 1. Still broke.
2008 - Laid off, Got a job, Bought a house after our rental house was foreclosed on, got laid off again wife got laid off 1 month after me. Both of us broke and no time.
2009 - Still laid off, wife working, I started 2 companies (I do contract architectural drafting & started a photography biz with wife). Sorta broke and in over my head.
2010 - Lots of photography and architecture work, still self employed. Not broke but still in over my head.
2011 - Ditto above except I am slowly backing out of photography to re-visit audio. Not broke, head above water.
2012 - Ambitions to do 5 track album and put an ice rink in my backyard.

What really has kicked me back into it is: A. I never really let it go. I just had other priorities and ambitions. B. Soma FM

Wow, no moss grows on you...glad things have picked up for ya, it's been a tough few years for a lot of people...hate seeing it all, I've had a couple friends go broke, lose homes and cars and jobs...it sucks. I haven't had to deal with it much, had some close calls, but the Great Architect has always provided somehow.

Like you, I never gave it up, just didn't have time, now I do. I hooked up with the husband of a friend of my wife, cool guy, great blues guitarist and songwriter and we are havin a grand old time firing up the fingers again.

Congrats on the birth and marriage! Sincerely! Both can test you and reward you like nothin else, as I am sure you have learned.

Same with you db. I am glad you kept this place going. And I am glad to hear you are venturing back out as well. Should be interesting to hear some content this year.

We need to still figure out that beer we always talked about having. Or if you are a scotch/whiskey/brandy type guy we can do that too. I'll treat to that!

Going HRC Pro after this post.

Oh, I started up another hobby from my past about a year ago, making my own beer and wine...I have a couple of dynamite recipes, turning out pretty good these days.

I have a couple cases of a Surly Furious knockoff right now as well as a little of my Summer Cream Ale, 6 gallons of Chardonnay about half way to bottle, running about 11% alc...and 6 gallons of Moscato that should be about 15% and smells devine!

Welcome back from me as well. Though, I didn't come around here til '07.

We've got a pretty good number of regulars hanging around this place. Some veterans, and some newer folks too. Just finished a couple collabs with Hue, Hippie, BigBluesMan, and Quickxkid. Both are up on Quick's soundcloud spot.

Who knows, might get a third one going at some point hehe.

I suppose my "day job" is doing IT Consulting type work via contracts (which have been a bit dry lately, but my wife works up at the university) I'm slowly trying to break away from IT and get into doing audio professionally, be it writing music or mixing music, or (eventually when I have a suitable place with enough room) recording music.

Just taking things a step at a time. Well, baby steps really heh. But we're still floating for now. :) Just don't know where we're moving to next after my wife's postdoc stuff up at the university ends. Probably somewhere more south though.

There's a lot of good, knowledgeable people here (always have been) and this place is still kicking with tips, info, questions being answered, and generally helping each other out. Should feel like coming home. :)

db...Beer and wine eh...I might have to make a purchase off of you. I am into different beer flavors especially these little project breweries. I have never had Surley but the Summer Creme Ale sounds nice. I'm Irish so it doesn't really matter.

J-bot...Thanks brother and a pleasure to meet you. This place really brings back quite a few memories and I always got some great advice here. I was so glad to see it was still beating. Just seeing the HRC logo was nostalgic enough.
