ive got a basic mix of an acoustic tune above - but i think it needs padding out a little with some extra, well, something.

havent got a clue what though - anyone fancy adding something to this? i was thinking of some hammond type organ noises, but surprise me someone! any contributions towards this would be top...

cheers peeps!

i love what you did to the vocals. I can't tell thru my computer speakers, but maybe the giutar needs something, a little EQ to warm up the low end and even out those mid-highs, the scritchy scratchy sound i mean. cool sound effects at the end. maybe that's what you could do, add sound effects and weirdness throughout. Checkout my sample disc in the folder Garrett/textures. Those are long samples of strange noises that go on and on. They make great backgrounds to fill up those "spaces".

Oh, I know what you need here. A bass guitar! Maybe If we can determine a point where the song "kicks in" that that's where it could get heavey. I'd like to hear a bass and some hand drums. Oh what am I saying... Do what you do best.

thats a thought...i might have a play with them. i thought about having drums and bass and stuff on there, but this is meant to be one of the two acoustic tracks on the album and i dont wana get carried away.

glad ya like the vocal - its actually the same part multitracked 3 times...one compressed, one with delay and one with guitar distortion effects on it. i spent hours messing about with that...and im still not sure that im happy with it!

dude... that needs a moog track, maybe a harpsichord...drums should Q in the song around 1:28 and hmm... now that i listen to it again mandolin or like a bass-line oriented banjo riff would be cool.

I can hear a banjo rhythm track in there. I'm weird about the banjo though.

you're weird about it? like, it scares you?

No, I'm not scared of it. I just think that the banjo is an instrument has alot of untapped potential. I feel the same way about the mandolin and dobro also. You hear so many different takes on guitar sounds and I think that a banjo is one of the few unexplored avenues of sound. fleck and triscke (spell?) have done alot of different things with it but most of the time you hear one its just the same ol' thing. Hell, I'm even guilty of it. I'd love to hear a killer banjo riff off a Deering Crossbow (Electric banjo) run through a Mesa on top of a Marshall stack with some nasty distortion on it.
I'm that kinda weird.

Nah, that's why I would like to hear it. I got a banjo but just an accoustic. I guess I could record a track and then experiment with some effect manipulation, couldn't I? I might try that.

Oh and by the way flame, your drum loop is done as of tommorrow. It is almost identical except for the tone of things. I tired to duplicate it to a TEE and I think I got it down. It still even has that old school sound.

hey, flame, this might be a silly question, but did you record this to a click track or what? what the hell is the BPM or is it just free-wheelin' through the whole thing?

I have a couple pretty cool basschops worked up and am recording it, but the bpm would help me edit and punch the errors (not that I make many :-)
