I was rummaging through the stock room at work. I stumbled across a set of these headphones. They use them for dictation. (A doctors office) Anyway, I borrowed them, checked them out, and I really liked them. I figured they were expensive. Googled them, and to my suprise, they are cheap as hell! Now, I would never steal from work, but I did relocate them to arms reach. Since then, I've ordered a set and have been using them, and I'm about to order another. I love em.

If you ever get the chance, give these a try.

Hey Rob, I read some reviews on those Sony headphones and people are raving about those. My wife would tell you that I am so tight, I squeak. She's prolly on to something there. But I splurge on occasion. These may very well be the focus of my next splurge...:) Thanks.

Also worth checking out:

Audio Technica ATH-M40fs and ATH-M50 or M50S (straight cord version)

Sennheiser HD280pro

AKG K240, which there's apparently a MKII version now. There's also a version with lower resistance. The old makes were 600 ohm from what I understand, and the K240S and K240MKII are 55 ohm I think. Plus the MKII include a 2nd cord, and replacement leatherlette pads.

All those get pretty rave reviews and they're all roughly in the same price range, cept the M40fs which are a bit cheaper.

I use the M40fs cans, and like em quite a bit, nice balanced sound, and I hear the M50 is a significant step up as well, though I haven't managed to try a pair yet.

The Sennheisers have always been very popular, and AKG has been around for ages, and has a pretty big following as well.

All worth taking a look at IMO.

Edit: Also, sorry in advance for making your decision that much harder =]

If you're content with the Kensington's, that's great and enjoy!

but i'd agree with the other guys and say to try out other headphones before you invest so much in the kensingtons... if you don't want to pay too much, try the audio technica ath-m30 headphones!
