Special retrigger effect

I'll try and keep it simple. Here's a sample of the effect i'd like to achieve. No particular song written in mind yet that i wanted to use this on, just think it'd be a rather nice technique to add to my small arsenal :P

Obviously around 0:08 there's a standout re trigger going on. But throughout the song the guitars do that. 0:20 is another example, a little more difficult of a rhythm to pull off. So, whats your guys's take on the EASIEST way to mess around with a technique like this? I've thought of 3.

Cut-n-paste. Snap to a quantize in cubase.
Melodyne cut-n-paste, so i could really get accurate with the timing.
Or that free Glitch plug-in on the web. I downloaded it a long time ago, and had some fun with it. But i haven't really learned much with using it yet, like how to really use it efficiently. Any opinions on that plug-in?

I'm open to any other ideas. This isn't really a big deal at the moment anyway. More of just a "post before i forget about it" thing. And i'm sure to experiment around with it anyway. But a second opinion never hurt :P plus i really wanted to kick up a conversation about that glitch plug-in. It seems really quite advanced and well formed for a free plug. But i don't have anything to reference it to.

Sounds to me more like a chopper than a retrigger coz u can hear that teh sound is at different parts of its wave when it comes back and forth, if it was retrigger it would sound like it was starting over constantly.

Choppers r basically very severe tremelos so id start with that, im sure there area billion chop plugs, but Boss came out with that new dual pedal that does patterns n such, not a fan though

Yep... a chopper/tremolo... or the mix was litterally 'chopped', which is what I'm thinking happened to that part.

Hmm alright. For some reason i thought the attack was in there each time, so it'd have the beginning of the note as well. Well, thats why i came here! So what, just slam on the chord once, and cut and splice the rhythm i want in there with simple daw tools? I'll try it (: but since i did start this thread, has anyone used that dblue glitch plug in to good effect? Like what are your opinions on that compared to other VSTs? free or licensed

Yupp. I hear it now. You guys are right, the attack isn't there every time. One more thing, those drums in the very intro (<0:08). Those sound really nifty =) i don't even know how to describe the effects those are accomplishing. Any ideas? Especially the...."whooshy" parts. or the "rat-a-tatatat's" lol.

The drums just sound like reversed cymbals, the usual build up trick i guess, u can literally just reverse ur wave file for the cymbals.

I use the dblue glitch a ton and the synth player in my band just has it as a kind of back up for live shows incase there is dead air to kill, hell just push a drum groove through it or something. Its great and it can do a ton of stuff, takes a (long) while to really master programming it so it does wat u want but since it syncs up and things jsut randomly pressing also gets good results.

I dont think ive tried any licensed glitch plugs, i pretty much got the dblue and stopped haha if that says anything
