i have acid pro 7 installed,i was getting audio from the mic for a couple songs ,then suddenly no more audio,my setup is: mic going into an art tube device and the output goes into the PC,if you talk into the mic you can see the meters move but no audio comes out thru the pc speakers, midi is working fine..im using soundmax sound card with soundmapper
i think the problem came when i pressed on the db or phantom power (the mic is not phantom)..but i checked the mic on another device and is working i even went and hooked up the tube preamp with the mic with a guitar amp and sound comes out thru it..i also tested on my laptop, same issue all you see on acidpro is static on the volume controls,i checked the mic and is not muted,i think the problem started when i clicked on some buttons on the tube preamp..but nothing seems able to fix it,but not sure what really happenned

Which meters are you speaking of. The meters are in Acid?

Maybe look at some sort of preferences to make sure the output of Acid is to go through your sound card. Can you play other audio on your soundcard?

Hey Ricardo,

I use Acid 7 Pro as well and know it inside out for the most part, so I can probably help out with any issues you may have.

As Coolio state above, you first want to check the prefences of your audio device inside of Acid. If you go to the top where your basic tool bars are at, click on the "Options" button. When that drops down, go all the way to the bottom to "preferences". This will oepn up a whole window full of menu tabs.

By defualt, it starts out on the "General" tab, so move two tabs over and click "Audio Device". In side that window, the very first option says "Audio Device Type". Now, by defualt, if you are not using any type of external sound device, it will say "Microsoft Sound Mapper". If there are other options there, make sure to post back what they are.

If you are using the sound mapper, and all of this is what is selected, then your prefernces on the sound device are fine.

You said the midi is working fine. Did you mean the audio portions of a midi track?

I am not sure how well you know your way around Acid, so forgive me if I am pointing out the stupid obvious things here. I know I fudged up on easy to fix things when I started using it...

Make sure the audio track you have anything recorded on isn't muted. Also, make sure any other track (midi, or audio) isn't solo-ed. This would of course mute all the the other tracks and play back only the solo-ed tracked.

If you hit this topic back with more in-details, I could probably help a bit better. Let me know if any of that helped.

I had one of those cheapo art tube pre's, I got audio drop out all the time when messing with buttons or turning it up. It was almost like it overheated and shut off. I would work again days later. Remove the ART and see if you have any problems.
