O.k, i made it easy by narrowing it down to 2.
The IBANEZ RG 7321 or
ESP LTD SC-207 (Stef Carpenter,Deftones).

Both are nice. Ibanez has thinner neck i think and better stock p/u's,and lets face it,Ibanez are killer value.
The ESP is the low end of the ESP sc series, the next up is about $1000 so i only have this choice. My big concern is the bridge p/u is in the middle(apparently for better cleans).
Both roughly same price. Any feedback would help me to no end, just can't decide and my local stored have neither of them to test. Thanks.

I suspect the bridge pickup being further back would give the guitar a more chunky sound, less of the bridge tinny-ness...so I'd suspect it depends what sound you are going for.

I'm not a fan of either brand actually. If I had to choose between the two, I'd take the Ibanez. The RG series has been established for a long time,

Don't forget about Schecter though, their C7 models are nice. I'd take a Schecter over either an ESP or an Ibanez RG personally, but I'm more of a conventional 6-string fan anyways so my opinion on the matter isn't quite as valuable as it could be.

Well I haven't really played on too many ESPs so I can't say too much about that. I can recommend the Ibanez though, as I own a 7-string (RG1527) and 6-string (USA Custom). With the Ibanez your going to get a quality instrument for a good value with an awesome neck on it. I have never played a Schecter 7 string but I do kind of like their 6 strings. My only problem with them though is that the necks are pretty thick. I feel like I'm playing on a baseball bat. Ibanez necks IMO are second to none.

I'm a fan of Ibanez , my friend has a low end 7 string and even when he had the stock pups it sounded killer. I've seen a lot of people play both and and like em. I love ibanez necks so that's where my vote is.
