It has been a quiet football season on HRC, kinda strange, that being said, I love starting with this one.

SKOL Vikings! w00t!

The Saints is gonna be the toughest game of their season though, no doubt about it...if the "good" Vikes come out, it's going to be a GREAT game.

I'm jazzed to see my main man Brett Favre win another Super Bowl!

I don't think that the Vikes will be able to stand up to the Saints. Those Saints are just insane, even more so now that Reggie Bush is running like a pro and not a college player any more.

I was really rooting for the Jets today, but they just don't seem to be able to keep up with the Colts. Manning is just something else. When he's focused, he's damn near unstoppable with his accuracy and range. I was hoping to see Rex Ryan's defense keep the Colts receivers in check. If anybody could do it, Revis could...or so I thought. Garcon is eating the Jets secondary for lunch.

If the "good" Vikings team shows up, it'll be a good game of ball...the Saints are amazing, but they have proven fallible and the Vikings, when they are on, are friggin amazing...I think it will depend a lot on who comes out in charge of the tempo and in large part, how the defenses perform on either side, cuz both offenses are more the capable.

They found yet a new way to **** up a game...the fact they went into OT with as crappy as they played was amazing.

It was so incredibly reminiscent of the NFC championship game two years ago when Favre threw and INT to squash the Packers' chance of going to the Super Bowl. Even when he's not on my team, he finds a way to stick it to me.

You have to admit, though, it (the season) was a great ride. Now you know why it was so hard to watch him play for another team. He's amazing.

I wouldn't put too much blame on Favre, yeah, a pick or two, but there were a few other mistakes...AP HAS to learn to hang on to the damn ball. He is really starting to annoy me...defenses have figured him out, he's getting less yards and dropping the ball more.

Yeah...I totally get it that it isn't really Favre's fault. It's never one guy's fault. Two fumbles in the red zone didn't help matters. But...he did have a great opportunity to put the Vikes into scoring position...

I just read that he told ESPN that it is "Highly unlikely" that he will play again.

Here we go again!

After the look on his wife's face last night a couple times, I'd chalk this decision up to "if the wife ain't happy, ain't nobody happy".

Where was the Vikes o-line? Poor guy was getting hammered all night.

I think I took that game harder than I've ever taken any game in my life. Favre was hammered all night long. AP can't hold onto a ball, and apparently he's contagious, because Harvin and Berrian decided to drop one each as well.

The defense played well until overtime, but the offense gave New Orleans too many chances.

I'll give most anyone a pass on A fumble...meaning one, everyone does it...AP has gotten to the point, however, where he makes me nervous every time he gets it...Taylor may not always get the yards AP does (though still breaks one out now and then, he's no slouch) but he never puts the ball on the ground. The golden Child is becoming tarnished.

Favre made a couple bad decisions, but over all, the game was still kept closer than it rightfully should have been.

AP had been making me nervous past few weeks too.

You tried the email in my profile? That should work... wonder why it bounced....

Anyway, thanks for the compliment. I'm a HUGE Viking fan, so the blog gives me some outlet. Plus I've been able to tie in some of my love for recording and songwriting into it as well.

I didn't know there were so many Vikings fans here. I should hold a Viking songwriting contest. :-)

i was trying to think of a way to express this...

sports.espn.go.com/espn/p...mp;sportCat=nfl

"Hamartia. The "tragic flaw" described by Aristotle: A leader cannot control his own inner shortcoming, which causes him to achieve the reverse of what he desired."

Not sure I agree with that, actually, I know I don't...I think that is a serious case of way overthinking.

I don't agree with it. Favre played fine in that game considering his surroundings. His receivers couldn't hold the ball, his running back couldn't hold the ball, and his line couldn't block worth crap. It was a stupid throw, yes, but the Vikes were in that position because of endless stupid things before that.

I'm looking at you, Nafahu "12th Man" Tahi

don't be intimidated by the term itself. i was thinking along these lines before i stumbled onto the article. thinking that there had to be some concept which captured this feeling of...tragedy and destiny at the same time. the dude who wrote the article arrived at the term because of the feeling, not because of the term. same feeling i had.

favre played fantastically until the moment when it really mattered. there was something about favre himself which caused him to make that very favrian mistake at the worst possible moment. i think the first few sentences of that article get close to the heart of it.

that moment unfortunately defines him. he's always been the unorthodox gunslinger, but he spent all of 2009 really watching that impulse (and winning). at the one moment where he really needed to remember what he had learned about restraint, he made an impulsive, bad decision. he became the bad favre. the bad favre is also the good favre. they come from the same place.

whatever else happened in the game, if he had done something else there, the vikes could be in the SB. i say this a farve fan. i kind of hope he comes back. he's on some kind of hero's journey, but the final lesson eludes him. to once and for all learn it and get what he truly deserves, he needs another season. can he do it? i want him to go out on top.

Rumor is the Vikings are talking to McNabb.

People seem to forget how many times Favre has had a game on the line and delivered the goods.
