Im going to install a orchestral proggie onto my computer that Fragile kindly put me onto but i just wanna double check as to what to dowload.
the choices are as follows.

"custom install on macintosh"
Library.
standalone.
audio unit.
vst.
rtas.

these are followed by ticks.

im pretty sure i need to install all of em, just unsure of the "rtas" one.

RTAS is the DigiDesign (ProTools) version of plugins. If you use ProTools, then you'll definitely need the RTAS. If not, I highly doubt that you'd need the RTAS version for anything.

Since you're using Cubase, you'll need the VST version if you intend to use it either as a VST plugin or a virtual instrument.

The standalone version would be if you want to use this new software outside of any DAW software, like if you just want to plug in and fool around with it just to see what all sounds it makes.

I'm not sure what it means by "audio unit". Maybe that's the VSTi (virtual instrument).

Library would most likely be the .dll files. I'd imagine that would be critical to install for all of the other install types to work.

haha does it have a name?

and hmm well maybe..

library might be just the sound files in the format needed, so alot of the time these are located in program files for me, and i just copy the vst .dll file into my vst folder..

basically most of my plugins link themselves to their content, so you just have to have the .dll in your vst folder prior to opening cubase (or rescan vst folder if possible)
