Using DeNoise in Wavelab 4 to clean up old recordings

Hey,
I'm trying to use Wavelab to clean up old recordings. Everything seems fine so far apart from when I try to use DeNoise to clean-up the track I'm working on. It just doesn't seem to want to record the finished product with the noise removed - I record the track in Wavelab, with the DeNoise effect removing the noise - sounds lovely - but then when I go back to listen to the finished product, the noise is back again. Any ideas?

Welcome to HRC.

Personally, I'd record it flat, with no effects or anything, then denoise it after recording so you can do and undo processing until you get it to your liking.

You can't record through a plug in WaveLab...

Thanks for clarifying, MM, I didn't think you could, but was at work and couldn't verify. I know I just never like to record anything but flat, uneffected input and process after recording.

Thanks.

I think what John2009 is saying is, He has a previously recorded track that he bring's into wavelab to clean up.

Therefore - You need to render the track then save it. that then gives you your new clean track. I've used it and it does work to an extent, BUT you have to be really careful not to overdo it.
