Can I use this through the fx loop of my amp. I want to turn off the preamp and just use the delay, and modulations fx.

Amps mono fx send out-->POD in-->POD out sterio-->amp sterio return

Is this how I'd do it?

I think you should be OK.

I use my XT inserted or on Aux busses on the desk all the time for doing a Re amp set up.

So I'm not sure why it wouldn't work in the FX loop.

Is that the same configuration you use on the desk... mono send, sterio return?

Yep, as well as mono-mono and I've gone stereo-stereo as well.

But usually mono-stereo. It just depends on what effect you want in the end.

Uhm... I'm thinnkin' you have the xtPRO... mine's just an xt. Maybe it's the same hook up, but I don't know... there's no line level input on mine.

The manual says to put it in front of the pre on the amp... isn't that the same a in the loop? Pre to pre ?
