monitoring issue with DP5 and 8pre

ok, so i have my 8 8pre setup with DP, i have an old project open and i just changed the output to my 8pre from what it was previously setup for. When I play the tracks I can hear them fine.

now heres the problem........

when recording, i have the track setup and ready to go but when i play i can only hear the dry signal from the 8pre (yes i've put the track in input and record). it doesn't even show a signal in DP but I tried actualy recording and i still couldn't hear myself and it still didn't show a signal except in the sequence it showed a wave and when i play back i can hear it just fine.

this is really weird nd i hope to get this figured out.
basicly what i want is to be able to see a signal and hear myself before, and while recording and i also don't want to hear the dry signal.
