I want to basically map out my electric drums for ezdrummer and my module sucks and cant do it, so i was wondering if anyone knew of any plugins that have a learning function and note assigning????
I am using fl studio for the host. I have tried everything possible in it and i dont think it can do it with out a plugin:\

Thanks in advance

I am pretty sure you can set each pad in EZ to listen to whatever note you want. That would be easiest instead of adding another bit of software.

What program are you using to record into? That as well may have a way to route midi note data to another note in EZ.

Not an EZ drummer user but every drum app I know of you simply right click on the pad you want to assign the incoming note data to and tell it what note to listen for as the trigger. It might have a learn function as well which you simply hit the learn button and hit the pad you want it to hear and your good to go.

Any drum program I have ever used has been able to do this. At least in the last 5 years I should say.

Anyway, try this one, its called midi fish and can alter any midi data in many different ways. www.harmony-central.com/S.../midi-fish.html

If that doesn't get ya then here is the google page I started with. www.google.com/search?q=m...lient=firefox-a

You should be able to find something I am pretty sure.

Your welcome. I hope it can do what you need. I'm pretty sure it will. But there looked to be a good selection of others as well.

You might also try looking at KVR as well.

Ihave tried alot of programs(every1 iv found) and they should work but im not sure... Is it possible that midifish or other midi programs just re-assign notes for midi output? not re-assign the input note?, Because midi fish and others have a midi in box and a midi out box so i have just bin putting the midi out to none

RE-assigning a note is simply that. It doesn't really matter for what you are doing if it re-assign's it on input or output. As your final destination is for midi output to EZ drummer and that is what those will do for you.

Its really pretty simple. Tell it what note to re-assign and it will do that. So if your controller is sending a C2 note and you want it mapped to E2 then simply tell it to do that.

Al my programs these days have a learn function so I haven't used that kind of set up in many years.

:D i feel stupid but my problem was that i needed like a virtual midi cable I used a program i already had called midi yoke and i used e-drum MIDI mapper. i had to set the midi in on the mapping program to my MIDI interface and i had to set the MIDI out to the virtualy MIDI cable (midiyoke)then do the assignments. In fl studio i set the midi input to midi yoke and I can now trigger EZ!:D

but one more problem:\ When assigning the hi hat pedal to the bass drum in EZ i have to set the hi hat so that it plays a closed hi-hat sound when the pedal is open or closed. I did this but when i hit the pedal than the hi hat really close together a second hi hat is triggered:s I have no clue why!:s

If you are using a hi hat pedal for the kick trigger you need to remember it has two actual trigger position's. One on the down and one on the up. If it is a high end pedal like mine it will actually do control voltage so a good drum module will be able to utilize samples from full closed all the way out to full open and everything in between.

nope its pretty bad but theres a way to set that up in e-drum midi mapper... I used a midi program that showed all midi input so i used that to see why the second hi-hat was triggered... it shows my hi hat twice when i get the second hi hat sound and im not bouncing the sticks... im thinking it might be the sensitivity... do you no how to change the sensitivity? would i look in fl studio? or another program:P?

The sensitivity will be on the control unit your drums are all plugged into, not in EZ or FL.

My module is terrible lol no sensitivity adjustments but the drums are alot more sensitive triggering EZ then they are when there triggering sounds on the module:\, wow maybe i should just get a module that has midi mapping and sensitivity:P any recomendations? under $200? I was looking at the alesis Dm5 its decent any better ones for the money?

oh maybe i dont need to spend any money! lol fl studio was set so that velocity didnt matter so when i hit the hi hat to hard or something it would trigger twice but the second hi hat instead of being silent because it was barely triggered was full volume, so i changed the velocity, fl gave me a curve box so i could tweak how hard to hit the pad for how loud the sound would be played.. I finally got it working!:D

Um, if you can find a DM-5 for under $200 then buy it promptly.

And no, you won't find a better module for that kind of money.

Thats because it is a pro level piece of gear. You won't find that on most gear in that caliber as it is built to be a sound module only. And never intended to do anything else.
