The problem I am having is when i playback music I get a horrible bubbling type sound coming through, this is exasperated when i move the mouse.
This only happens on the vista boot up side as i have xp on dual boot for the recording and have never had any problems.
I have tried re-installing the drivers but to no avail.

Sep 11, 2008 07:36 pm You cannot use the normal drivers for Vista. That is probably what is causing the problem. They will install but not work properly. You need the unified driver package from ESI. Get it here. download.esi-audio.com/?w...mp;g=1&l=en

Sep 11, 2008 09:18 pm OK, I am wondering if the settings you use for recording are too high for the media player or whatever in Vista and that is causing the problem. Like possibly setting at 24 bit 48kHz or something that the players in Vista can't get to.

Sep 12, 2008 01:39 am No, this is actually happening to any playback material, be it through a web site, mp3's or cd's.
I don't use the vista boot side for any recording or audio manipulation work, it is solely for playback of commercial music.

Sep 12, 2008 06:50 pm Well, it is a beat driver. But ESI is not known for releasing bunk drivers even in beta form.
I would first guess Vista is pulling one of its phone home crap deals and is checking the music which may be effecting the driver stability. But it could also be something else messing with the audio driver just on a simple level.
I would do a couple of things. Check with ESI tech support to see if you can file a bug report. You will need to supply them with a Watson log taken while it happens and possibly audio sample as well.
Then try hitting up MicroSlop and see if they have any clues. I am guessing they will not but you never know.
The last thing is maybe make a run through your running processes list while it is happening as well to see if anything is jumping out that might be wrong or should not be happening during playback.
