ezdrummer

I have been using the hi-hat control pedal on my e-drums to trigger the base drum from my module because the base drum pads acoustic volume is really loud. I use ezdrummer to record and was wondering if anyone know's if its possible to set the bass drum in ezdrummer to play when I hit the hi-hat pedal? and if so how? Also sometimes when playing the ezdrummer kits from my electric kit some pads play a different pads sound... anyone know how to fix it?

Well it would depend on which host software your using EZdrummer with as too how you would map the pads to the correct or desired drum sounds. In Sonar you would use Drum Maps, others I'm not familiar with. I would imagine you could also change the note that EZ is expecting for a given piece of the kit as well within EZdrummer. Finally you could go into your edrum brain and edit the notes it sends for a given pad (least desirable IMO).

I don't have either of the programs so I'm afraid I can't be of much help there.

I would think you would be able to change the note assignment. I have a Roland TD-3 and I've edited the note assigment until it matches the drum sound I want in EZdrummer. What ever note # your bass drum shows, set that to the hi-hat foot pedal.

What do you mean by note assignment? like i have these really bad OSP DD 502, i got em cuz they were cheap and when i change the note that is played when i hit a trigger EZ plays the same sound no matter wat sound i set on that trigger, the only thing that gets EZ to play a different sound is when i change the kit on my module.. and there is no kit on my module that has the hi hat pedal as a bass drum and custum kits dont work:s

Each pad on My TD-3 has a note assignment, which I guess links up to the individual midi instrument notes in EZdrummer. If I change that note on my TD-3 it changes to that instrument. I'm new to midi, but that was a work around for me. Since you are running a similar setup, if you play quick 32 notes using EZdrummer and record them in Acid, do you get missing notes? I hear everything I play, but Acid doesn't get all the notes.

oh i dont have acid installed, i cant think why that might happen cause if you hear it your pads are picking everything up. try watching your cpu meter when recording if it gets near 100 % it might lag or glitch, i know my comp is bad and does this often:/, try closing all other programs if your using alot of cpu... thats my only guess:s

Doesn't FL have a drum mapper in either the midi options section or in the main options section?

And actually, in EZ you should be able to simply re-assign the midi note number of any of the pads to what ever you choose in either the pads menu or the main menu.

Just look for options and the open the midi tab. It could be called preferences or something as well. Just open the drop down menu's until you find access to the midi stuff.

That might be it. I'm not really familiar with FL at all anymore. The last time I used it was 5 or 6 years ago.

I think there was a midi pluggin that was able to do note re-assigning somewhere. I will look around when I have some time during the week.
