Duplicating CD

I have decided to RIP the music from our Master CD to my HDD and then use Nero to burn 50 copies of our new CD. I ripped the songs using Windwos Media Player and I told it to RIP them in WAV Losless format. For each song the BitRate=1411kbps, Audio Sample Size=16 bit, Sample Size=44khz, and Format=PCM, Channels=2 stereo.... are these setting ok to mass produce the CD??

Maybe an image would be better. I'd look into that first.

If you can't image from the CD, then you should be good to go with what you have.

I'm not a mastering tech, so take my advice as such =/.

I tried the imageing deal and it seems to work well. Does that literally copy the Master at the same quality as the the Target copies I am making, with no loss of quality?? It's hard for me to tell with PC speakers

Yes, it should duplicate the disc as an exact copy.

As long as we're on the subject -- If you're presented a production master by a mastering facility, I'd actually submit that it's important to NOT rip the disc and re-author it.

The TOC on a red-book compliant disc is pretty specific -- Not all burning programs write it to spec. And the results can be pretty devastating (financially speaking, among other things). A direct copy is always the best way to go - If you have a program that will create a proprietary image (evidently, Nero can - But you can't create a universal ISO image of an audio disc), that's great. EAC (Exact Audio Copy) is a great program for making direct disc-to-disc copies also.

But for sure - Ripping and re-authoring, although "most of the time it'll probably work" might not always be the best way to skin that particular cat...

good points, also i'd like to add, if you're recording at a higher resolution (say 24bit/48khz) to give 'em that...if not then no worries.

also i'd like to shamelessly plug my dupe house printertainment.com/cgi-b...mp;keywords=all

the duplication prices aren't on the net yet, but if ya call they'll hook ya up...anything from 100 to 5k....barcode, shrinkwraped.

god if feel dirty now!!! sorry lol

cheers

Just to clarify -- The O.P. is looking to replicate an existing CD-A disc.

1) Toss it in nero 2) select cd-copy and set to 50 3) stare at screen and change cd's when needed.

Massive, good call on that. I think I always kind of assume most people are using Nero or similar. But you are very correct. EZ Coaster Creator will not do an exact copy very well.

I use Nero and they do a good job without data loss. I will agree that EAC is also an excellent choice as well.

If your interested in that one you can find it here.

Ya, its a pretty simple app. that is kind of still in a beta form to be honest. I can't remember when I first came across it but it works really well. And he is very open to suggestion if you do find a bug with it.

I ended up just making an Image using Nero and then burned that image to 50 discs. It worked just fine. I checked every 5th Disc by playing the CD through WMP, and kind of bouncing around and listening to all the songs, and everything tended to work out just fine. The Image put all the songs back on the CD as .cda files and they sounded like the Master.
