MIDI banks? patches? confused

Hey guys,
What are midi banks? how do I use them?
Where can i get MIDI patches, and how are they installed?

banks are different sets of 128 sounds in a sound module or synthesizer. "patches" are not installed, but come with the MIDI device. Some have removable cards or internal chips that contain more sounds.

Patches can be added or changed via system exclusive which is part of midi. What kind of synth are you looking for patches for? I can give you some direction if I know what it is Im directing you to. And dB had the bank thing right on the money.

I am looking for patches for the Dreamstation DXi softsynth, particularly string and wind orchestral patches.

a quick google.com search for "dreamstation patches" turns up a number of links including this one www.kvr-vst.com/bank.php?getbank=102 over at k-v-r

Yep, they have some kool patches for the DreamStation. I allready grabbed em and there pretty good. But like Jamie said, there are plenty out there, just do a search and youll find them.
