How many tracks?

how much effects?

convo reverbs, softsynths, ?

if you are thinking no more than 20 tracks, with only light effects, not much midi/synths, then probably no big deal, though you can't grow much.

If you're going to be getting to 40+ tracks, and softsynths/ midi/ involved effects, then you'll run out quick.

Buy the better one, then you don't have to buy ANOTHER pc next year when the lighter one starts getting too small.

Course, that's my opinion, but why buy twice =/. but if the $$$ ain't there, then you may not have much choice.
