On the Ozzy Osbourne Randy Rhodes Tribute album at the very beginning of the concert there is a Opera/Orchestral type song playing to open up the show. Does anyone know what the name of this piece is??

I'm not sure about the spelling but its Carmina Burana, with the specific movement being called "O Fortuna". I hope that's right!

Cheers to Tribute. I wouldn't be playing guitar still this day if it hadn't been for the tablature songbook of that album. Thank you, good night, we love you all!

:-D

:edit:
I just did some digging around and yes, spelling and all, that's the song I was thinking about. There are a few samples on Amazon and other places you can check to make sure its the one you're referring to.

Thats the one. Thanks. I am putting together an Intro for the band, and I remember in the day hearing this and thought I would give it a shot. I am mixing a few popular sound clips from the Wicker Man with it when it quiets down in the middle. For the types of shows we play [all outdoors and at night] I am looking to kick our show up a notch. Usually we all just mosie on to the stage, do an quick introduction and howdy and then start playing. My idea is to play this new mix as an intro and when it starts getting heavier again after the low part we start getting situated to our instruments, and when it climaxes at the end start our setlist... alot like Ozzy does on the Tribute album. My plan is to incorporate this lighting setup below too and see if I can't throw a little more spice to our show. Usually we just have some tiki torches setup and a bonfire going on about 30' in front of the band. I have learned recently that Visual effects are good for a show too, so I will see how it goes.
