I was so tired of mixing on my 19" 1280x1024 screen and had some cash left over after selling of tons of unused gear.

Picked me up a 24" Samsung that does 1920x1200 and can't wait to start mixing without all the up\down\left\right scrolling :)

I am also selling my P4 based system and stealing my wifes quad core rig because she never uses it (always using mine). I figure if it's gonna sit there hooked up to the TV and do nothing, I might as well start using it as a studio rig.

Gonna make sure all my apps transfer over correctly (audition, drumagog and harbal) to vista 32bit, if all goes well I will dump my other PC on craigslist and start enjoying some uber processing power and my new monitor, hooray!!!

... And to think I get by on a 17" CRT monitor at 1024x768. (well, it is kinda cluttered, actually). I swear someday I'll have money...and then I'll have 3 nice flat-panel screens in front of me...and then I'll be poor again. ... Or I'll wait for my daytrading brother to strike it big and fund me a studio -snicker-

Eh, I can dream.

Seriously though, sounds nice Tripps, and I'm sure the workflow is a lot nicer now.

I'm starting to distrust my own PC. I may do some serious upgrades this summer if I have some spare cash for it. I already changed out the HDD with an 80GB Western Digital that I got from my friend, and it started clicking last night. Luckily a chkdsk from the command line seems to have appeased the beast for now, but it's lurking I fear.

Well, enjoy your new screen :D

Sweet! I'm using (2) 17" on my rig at home, and get scrolling alot with anything over 10 or 15 tracks.

I bet that extra height is gonna help big time.

Congrats on the new gear!

That is awesome! Sounds like a nice setup.

I'm in the same boat as J-bot with the 17" CRT. I think its about 10 years old. The monitor is so dark that I have to turn the brightness on the monitor to 100 and then turn the brightness up in my video card settings to see anything.

I'm starting a new job next week so I should be able to get a new monitor (or two) pretty soon.

Yeah, I did splurge at a $450 price point, but really that's not too bad beings I paid $350 for my 19" a few years back. Plus, I sold soooo much stuff my wife is still happy that I only spent a fraction of it :) The price of 19&20" lcd's is extremely awesome right now, I almost contemplated buying two but would hate the line down the middle, and I couldn't afford three :)

Anyway, I suprisingly get every single application working (licenses transfered etc.) within two hours and tracked a new song last night on the Gateway Vista machine. I had 15 raw tracks and one bus all visible at the same time with no scrolling, Praise the Lord!!!!

I was pretty suprised that Vista gave me little problem, I had to modify some permissions to install drumagog but that had a walkthrough on their site that was easy to follow and most importantly, it worked.

I just got a 22" LCD a couple of weeks ago. I must say it is great to work on. I can view 24 tracks and some busses in one view without any scrolling. Awesome. I used to have a crappy 17 inch LCD before moving up to this. Don't know how I could manage without it now.

Holy crap, look at the head room on your tracks!! I have a 19" Widescreen and if I click EQ and output on, the screen is eaten up- I bet you could view all track properties with that 22" without scrolling, eh?

That's weird, Kieth . I can get almost all of Sonars track properties in my 19"widsescreen .

I really would love to have another one of these puppys... spread out some of the tasks going on .

Whats your screen rez set at Keith? I can fit everything in there except maybe one line. I love my dual 19 wides. I can span a huge mixer across them and simply love it.
