Mar 16, 2008 02:44 pm Hmmm, sounds interesting? Can you really just jam along with other people? What sort of gear do you need?

Mar 16, 2008 04:24 pm I use my Toneport. One guy I jamed with was pluged into his Mic in on his computer!!! It was cool took me a few minutes to figure out the delay situation but then it was awesome.

Mar 16, 2008 05:24 pm Ah! So how do you get around the delay. I suppose if someone was playing you would get them with a delay but then what they here of you would be even more delayed. Wouldn't it just go out of time?
Mar 16, 2008 05:26 pm yea i was wondering that too with this is how the delay actually worked, having to fiddle with it urself or it sets itself.

Mar 16, 2008 06:07 pm Na I muted my own playback and now it comes through in time. It works really good for what it is. Like I said I jumped in and jammed with three people I didn't know. It was pretty sweet.

Mar 16, 2008 06:57 pm Ya, there are a few apps out there like this. Some are better then others. I belonged to one that Thomas Dolby had started years ago and it was pretty decent. You needed a good PC and interface though to keep up with the timing and avoid major latency.

Mar 17, 2008 12:03 pm I would love to try this as it has been something I have thought about for a long time. I created an account "CptTripps" and will download the software after work tonight.
Could be fun!

Mar 17, 2008 12:23 pm Reaper developers created Ninjam to do this. They've been playing with it for quite a while.
I've not tried it, but it's another option.

Mar 22, 2008 09:26 am This is cool !
Just to clarify: You need to mute your own input-signal, and simply jam with the playback of what you hear from the others, which makes the latency unnoticeable... right ?
