I want to purchase my first system, but was wondering where I could read about different hookups, system designs,etc.. Are there any DVD's that I could purchase? Classes? Thx in advance.

First of all, Welcome to HRC!

Second, hang around here for about a week. Read as many of the articles in the "Tips" section as you can. Ask questions. Keep current with the various posts that pop up each day. If you do this I believe you will have all of the information and confidence you need to make an extremely educated purchase.

Also, don't be afraid to let us know more about how you want to use your home studio and what kinds of music you'd like to record. That always helps us answer questions and offer advice.

Thanks for stopping by...

Also, welcome to the HRC!

If you want literature, the best one I can suggest, (I'm sure that everyone here is thinking that I have stock with them by now, or, at least tired of hearing about it.)

Is the Yamaha Sound Reinforcement Handbook.

This book will go over everything you want, and need to know about live sound.
It is intense, and dense. By the time you are done reading it, you will be able to answer just about any post in this section of the HRC.

By the time you are done reading it you will go back and read it 3 more times, then you will be able to answer just about any post in this section of the HRC. What Rob said... it is Intense, but one of the best books I have purchased on this subject ever. Thanks again Rob.

I just started to watch that DVD

Might be the video version of that book.
