I'm a bit concerned. I got the new MF catalog (don't....) through the mail yesterday. There just seems to be a growing trend towards those 80s pointy guitars again. With all the media/reality programs regarding some of the 80's stars, are we heading for a revival?

Lipstick, ratted big hair and a BC Rich Bich....

I don't think I could take it again. I lived through it the first time...

I've got some of the 80's missing in my memory, please don't let me have any flashbacks! They are missing because my psyche can't handle them.

If you think that's annoying, wait until gangsta becomes "retro."

I'm hoping a brain tumor will mercifully take me before that happens.

lmao, I have to side with Herb on that one... no pun intended.

idno TC.... I about wet my pants when I read the first post, and defiantly let a little go after reading the second, so at least a little good is coming from the hair band re-birth. If you call wetting your pants a good thing that is.

Christan market definitely went metal... but fortunately left out the glam. definatly 80's influence... local stations "Battle of the Buzz" actually had a 70's throwback band win not too long ago...

here's an example of a band that I would expect to be signed soon.

This Fire's Embrace - Home Again

The already distributed 'cross over' stuff is very syncopated and melodic/harmonic...

August Burn Red - Composure

Devil Wears Prada - Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over

AW MAN?!? Does this mean that Bowie is putting the dress and make-up back on?

Please God, don't let that happen again!

They've got a real prominent Sevendust sound to them. Good find Zek.

Hey Beerhunter. You and Tommy Conwell are both waiting for the return of the 80's sound.

Tommy has been crying broke for the past 7 years.

Glad I held onto my Washburn B-20 bass (and dB-Wan has an A-20).

Of course, it now has black Pup covers, black metal knobs and is fretless....Not very rock'n'roll, really.

As for Bowie? Bring back Ziggy at once (er...and that was the 70's...first glam-go-round....Slade, T-Rex, Spiders, Sweet, NY Dolls etc.).

Heard a W.A.S.P. song on Sirius satellite radio the other day, it was C.R.A.P.

I have an A-10, had a B-10 (I think it was B-10, if that model exists) headless bass for a while, it sucked I dumped it...

Right, A-10. Same shape as the B-20 bass.

Mine always looked cool, but had a rather sweet voice that didn't suit its looks. As a fretless it's lovely.

Hey Rob, do you think anyone besides you or I even know who The Young Rumblers were? And I always thought back then Tommy would be one of those that ended up with nothing in the end.

For those that don't know who Tommy Conwell is here ya go.

And ya, that is a scan of the original album cover. Click it for a better view of the hair. That blow dried style was killer back in the day.

My God...

From 1991. I guess we forgot the '80s were over. Yeah, that's me on the right.

Hey Noize, probably not. I've worked with Tommy for awhile now. And I have no idea of why he never got beyond the one hit wounder band status.

Poor guy barely has a career any more. But, you should see his act now a days.
Tommy is one heck of a Blues player!

Noize, remember the second band he was in? Just looked it up, Buzz Zeemer still exist! Tommy and Frank finally resolved their issues.

Don't know if any one ever heard of Flight of Mavis, but that is where Frank Brown is from.

Herb, hell ya! Nice hair! I'm guessing that isn't a perm. :-)

Rob, indeed that is what led me to his music was the guitar stuff. It is indeed a pity the band was just another one hit wonder though. I personally thought they were great live as well as on the album.

Buzz Zeemer was also very cool. Only got to see them live once out east. But it was a hell of a show.

How about Tommy Conwell and the Little Kings? I have that piece of vinyl locked away. I figure it will only gain in value.

The chest hair...the man-perms...the power mullet...can't take much more...aaaaaahhhhh!!!!!

Oh man if I could only scan some of my fliers and news clippings of our glam band from 1993/94 then you all would never stop laughing at me.

Mine was not a perm. I could pick up the local TV stations on it.

Tadpui, you are not the only one with a shiny clothing past. No one would even recognize me in most of the promo pix I was in during my live days. In some I look Hispanic, in others I look Italian and so on and so on. In my wedding pictures I look like an Italian mobster, and I'm French Canadian for petes sake.

But the stage clothes were just that. I rarely went out in public looking like I did on stage. In fact when the show was over it was back to jeans and T shirt for this boy.

I wore tighter and shinier pants then most of my GF's back then.

I did the whole stage clothes all the time thing. Sad, but true.
