Feb 06, 2003 09:29 pm my friend has wireless mouse/keyboard. hey's always loosing them! "where's the mouse" "i dunno, you had it".
too much freedom if you ask me.
my thing is the optical mouse. i think optical mice are the greatest thing since 5 1/4" floppys. I haven't cleaned a mouse ball in years.

Feb 06, 2003 09:34 pm I'm with Jamie. Optical track ball is the best! I hate scrubbing those little mouse balls and picking the lint out of their sockets!
I tried both wireless mouse and keyboard, and maybe it was because I bought cheep, but, they became a frustration real quick. The keyboard was line of site infrared and something was always getting in the way. The mouse had a tendency to run out of battery at all the worst times! It would start by skipping a beat here and there first before quiting entirely. I'm back to wired. I picked up a little folding side table that I can move next to my listening chair for mouse and coffee.

Feb 06, 2003 09:41 pm My co-worker has an optical mouse and keyboard (which are wireless), they are cool, but what I don't like is that every so often, he'll need to do something with his computer and the mouse will have run out of batteries, and of course there are none around. So he has to take a trip to the local drug store and it seems like a pain in the butt. But if you have a lot of AA batteries, then they are less of a hassle than worrying about the stupid cords getting in your way.

Feb 06, 2003 10:06 pm I love my MicroSquish Trackball Explorer. I am so glad I swithced. I can hardly use a real mouse any more. I go on the boyz box in their playroom and have a hard time using it. I do love it for editing, my hand never get's tired.

Feb 06, 2003 10:39 pm hmm the mouse running out of juice does seem like it would be a problem... maybe I'll run a wired mouse and wireless keyboard, is this possible?

Feb 06, 2003 10:48 pm Shouldn't be a problem. They are both monitored the same input to the computer.

Feb 08, 2003 09:29 pm I just bought a Logitech Elite Cordless Optical Duo (mouse and key) and I love it. It's perfect if I'm at my keyboard and need to do some quick things and don't want to jump back in front of the computer. It's also nice when you want to lean back and prop your feet up and recline...typing in your lap. Don't buy the Microsoft Blue set though...junk. I bought it first and my mouse button kept squeeking and it would suddenly hang. Very annoying. Buy the Logitech...it's great.
Feb 08, 2003 10:16 pm I'd def buy Logitech over Microsoft any day. My old MouseMan Wheel optical is the nicest mouse i've ever used. I also have to recommend Key Tronic keyboards. I've literally punched this thing and knocked the whole casing off, and it just snapped back together and still works fine.
Now if only Logitech would release an OS...
