steelers, while a great team even this year, are not proving it. if they'd give parker the ball half as many times (so that he could still be a 'possibility' and a threat) they would have more success. using him rarely really works, and downs are eaten up. the opportunity cost for that is effective big ben screen passes to miller or ward. i don't really get it. and when it doesn't work, they stick with it. there's something wack about the coaching this year.

the pitt defense sucked today. though they have some star players (polamlau played well today for maybe the first time this year)i think they're overrated this year. a statistical anomaly. this game could have easily be won. i predicted the drive that tied it, down to the exact plays. if the decision to attempt those screens and a drive like that had come earlier in the game, different ball game. there is a real adaptability problem. something with coaching, i guess. not blaming tomlin. maybe arians, who knows. use the weapons you have. too conservative. it better change soon, cuz it's a waste.

jets were competetive with pats, i heard? i do believe the pats can be beaten. i do not necessarily believe they get to the super bowl this year.

i lovce a snow game. that bills/browns field looked great!

I was just glad to see Dallas get beat. After the camera guy kept focusing on Jessica Simpson I became so jealously enraged with Romo I wanted him to get beat...

And yeah, that game in Cleveland was what football is all about!

everyone in the bar laughed when the first cleveland highlight was shown. it was hard to even see the guys.

i am equally supportive of dallas and green bay. i like TO, and of course favre. if it comes down to the pats in the super bowl (i'm not convinced it will) then dallas is a good challenger, maybe. the pats must be defeated at all costs!

I've never really liked Dallas, not sure why, no good reason, just never have since I was a kid. I do like Romo on the whole, other than being completely jealous he gets to hit Jessica Simpson, but I digress. That said, Romo SUCKED yesterday...as did Eli Manning...again...

Any bets on how long Eli will be a starting QB? I mean he is having a terrible, terrible season. I flipped to that game just in time to see him hit and drop the ball...

as a pitt fan, i have always disliked dallas. all i'm really saying is that parcells was a funny guy and TO is a character. but if it comes down to NE/dallas, what am i supposed to do? last thing i want is for dallas to get another ring. but more than that, i think i want to see the pats denied.

yeah romo sucked yesterday

i don't know how long eli will last. the record of the giants is not bad, so i guess the time is not now.

I still don'tget your complete and utter hatred for NE, but I won't open that can o' worms again. I think I hate Dallas because back in the 70's or 80's (memory is fuzzy at best) they were kind of what you look at NE as now. They were a good team, cocky, cheerleaders were a major trend thing...the NFL was all about Dallas...as I saw it anyway.

That said, I agree, I like T.O. in terms of entertainment value...but one thing I have noticed this season, for as good of a receiver as he is he really drops some easy balls on a rather frequent basis.

yeah he does; he's hot/cold. but at least he seems to have grown up. it's interesting watching his comments. i get the feeling like he really wants to say other stuff, but that he's holding back or trying to say the right stuff.

i don't really get my hatred for NE either. i used to root for them a bit whenever they were the super bowl AFC team. i actually have more reasons for my dislike, but it's probably not worth going into. haha. suffice it to say that i think inevitable wins remove the human drama, one of the main things i watch football to see. and here, the situation seems completely predicated on the passing game, which to me means that this situation is happening mainly because the winning defensive game plan hasn't been formulated yet. i have a 'hurry up' feeling. a sense that it is possible, but has not been discovered.

The Vikings are the team I worry about most in the NFC right now. They have hit their stride right now, and they have finally figured out how to make the best use of all of their offensive tools. (Defense has never been an issue.)

With Packers earning a first round bye yesterday, it makes it very likely that there will be another Packers-Vikings showdown in the second round of the play-offs. Even though that game would be at Lambeau, I'm still worried about it.

Tampa Bay has been coming on strong too, and the Redskins have a chance to finish strong and be on a roll come play-off time.

Let me be the first to predict that it will NOT be a New England - Dallas Super Bowl. In fact, I'm going on record as saying neither team will make it.

I'm not saying who will be...there's just too many possibilities. I'd love to see Packers-Colts, but I'm not holding my breath on either one of those two teams.

Ya gotta love the NFL, especially at this time of the year!

All right you guys...

I'm sticking with my original prognostication, Colts at 14-2 and Pats at 15-1 in the Super Bowl with Indy winning it.

I don't like Dallas either. I thought they were pretty damned arrogant when they declared themselves "America's team" back in the late 70's. There was a joke back then too, "Why is there a hole in the roof of Texas Stadium?"
"So God can watch his football team."

Pure arrogance, but they earned it then, and the Pats have earned it this year.

Madden says that Tom Brady has learned the system very, very well in New England, but in Indianapolis Manning IS the system. Oh yeah, Eli sucks big ones.

Colts and Pats can't both be in the Super Bowl.

Plus...he started it.

damn it! i lost the playoffs round one! i'll have to see why later, but i can guess.

i don't think the pats will make the SB either. at least, i hope not. and i strongly suspect they won't. and it'll be golden.

no, he started it!

Whew, the Vikings won last night, it wasn't pretty but a W is a W...that was some of the worst quarterbacking I have seen out of two teams at the same time ever.

Perhaps the Pats won't, what would be funny is if they DO have an undefeated season then loose in round one of the playoffs...

Still, I see a dynasty in the haps...and I think it's cool.

Alright, maybe I did start it...

Whew, neither team really wanted to win that game last night! You're right: that really was some pathetic QB performance by both guys. The Vikings offense looked like a one pony show. As AP goes, so go the Vikes. Makes it a bit easier to prepare for them.

I've decided that I don't hate the Pats either. I like Tom Brady...I even like Randy Moss now. I do hate their coach, though. I hated him long before the stupid "Spygate" thing ever happened. He just carries himself like such an arrogant prick that it really turns me off. No class at all. Still, you have to respect him for the dynasty that he has helped build in New England.

Tony Dungy...he just drips classiness. I was really glad to see him win the big one last year.

I disagree, I like his kill or be killed attitude and his ghetto NFL attire.

Agreed, I was sooooooo hoping he'd end up in Minnesota to coach...

As far as the Vikes go, well, they won, they still have momentum. I don't know about the one show pony, Chester Taylor is awesome in his own right...not as flashy maybe, but very productive. A couple capable receivers but their productivity depends on Jackson.

I found it odd the announcers trashed Orton all night while making excuses for Jackson, while performing equally crappily.

I made that very same comment to my son last night while watching the game!
