I can't stand this!

i need help figuring out how to run the firepod via firewire.... the recordings pop randomly and the playback is choppy as hell.

i hope someone can help, cuz i have a HUGE freakin hammer at my house that im about ready to use on it

are you sure your firewire chipset is supported by the firepod? My m-audio firewire (18/14) is a little picky with the 1394 controller chipsets it will play nice with.

buffer settings (in your recording app AND on your hardware driver) is how to fix that....i change mine depending on how i'm working....if i'm tracking (recording) i keep 'em as low as possible....but when mixing, i get them up pretty high...due to the processor taxing....it kinda sucks cuz if ya boost the lows with an eq, it'll take a few seconds before you hear the results while listening in real time....but you can work around it.

yeah, i think presonus calls them "disk buffers" or something... if i remember correctly. is that the same thing?
