As many of you know, my 14 year-old son plays in a band. (I posted a video of them several months back.) Yesterday, I recorded them doing a few songs while they practiced. This particular song is called "Anywhere", and it was written by the girl singing it.
Have a listen:

Remember...they're 14...

Sep 23, 2007 06:01 pm great stuff... I'd love to hear it polished.
performance wise theres some off tempo stuff here and there...but mainly... I would really like to hear the drummer use the ride during choruses.... maybe slightly open HH for some sizzle...

Sep 26, 2007 08:16 pm Jim, very nice. She has a pretty cool voice. Kind of early Avril Lavine sounding voice wise. I like the ballad style guitar going on. I agree, I would ove to hear this one polished up a bit as it has some potential for sure. He is learning to make that guitar cry isn't he? Practice makes perfect, and it sounds like they have been. I'm guessing they'll win the next school talent show for sure.
And damn straight on the proud poppa moment, 14 and they don't sound half bad at all. It made me smile by the way.
Sep 28, 2007 11:23 am I thought Avril too. Enjoyed this, Jim. Some talented kids there! Proud papa!
