It's no secret that I'm a huge fan of their stuff, so you can keep that in your back pocket on this one. However, I was fortunate enough to get a factory tour yesterday (huge thanks to Evan and Paul for the tour).

Amazing. To see what actually goes into making their pickups is incredible. The attention to detail, and the homage paid to the designs and production methods of yesteryear (I saw, in use, the spool winding machine that came from Gibson - the one that actually wound the Seth Lever PAFs). The little pieces of wood in the antiquity series HBs (very authentic - and installed in a place where no-one would ever see it..), and the bar magnetizer were f***ing cool.

I also got to go into the custom shop (thanks to MJ for access to her sanctuary), and to see some of the amazing (and frankly startling) stuff they make in there (the Charlie Christian PU is a beast). Also the sound room...That was amazing. The stories that room could tell...

Anyway, seeing great pickups (and a few of the new products - hush, hush) being hand crafted was incredible. It gave me a whole new perspective of these pickups. They do it right.

Did you bring enough to share with everyone? =)

I've been eyeing up a pair for to replace my emg selects in my epi for quite some time. Just never justified the $$$ yet.

Good to hear they're quality craftsmanship.
