Behringer EP2500 in Bridged Mode

I have a Behringer EP2500 PA and I am going to be running some Subs off of it in Bridged Mode. I spoke with Behringer about this and the Technician first warned me against it, and said if I was going to do this I had to perform a specific procedure to the exact or I risked blowing AMPs or Speakers. The 2 processes were setting certain DIP switches and re-wiring my Speak-On connector from -1, +1 to +1, +2. After that I would run from output channel 1 to a Subwoofer and then from that Subwoofer parallel to the next. Any idea on why I needed to re-wire the Speakon cable going to the 1st Sub?? Also, there are 2-wires in my speakon cables a black and a white... which is + and which is neutral?? All I did was take the wire that was originally on -1 and moved it to +2, and left the other wire alone as it was already on +1. I hope I did this right.

I'm honestly not sure why they are doing that. It does sound odd. I would certainly double check to make sure that is how they want it wired.
