Fair warning, the site will be moving tomorrow morning, I will be posting a more prominent note on the site around 6AM (CST)...once that note is gone, you will be on the new site.

I am organizing the move with HostPC to hopefully be as efficient as possible.

if you don't see a bright red message at the top of the site any more, then you are viewing the new server.

Is it me, or are the pages loading faster on the new server? Navigating the site seems a little snappier. Good job on the move. Pretty seamless as far as I can tell.

cool, yeah, I thought it seemed faster too...that what happens when you have less domains on a server...imagine what it'll be like when we have a full server all to ourselves...which WILL happen...just not sure when...

"which WILL happen"

i'm with ya on that.....you're in a VERY good niche at the moment and i will do all i can to help...but, as an addict (you can omit that if you want) i'm sure you can understand my financial situation....BUT in return, i offer my help to everyone here. i know it isn't much, but in all honesty it is the best i can offer....this community is BY FAR one of the best 'message board' type sites for ppl i've ever stumbled across....and i learn STILL to this day more daily. kinda that thing where 'the best way to learn is to teach' philosophy. do what you gotta do, and *also you can delete this part too* if you get paid by the click on some links, i'd be more than willing to help on that front.

sorry i'm drunken rambling, heck, get rid of this whole post if ya want. i don't even know the point i'm tryin' to make.

You make a good point, er, good points. Hell, people helping others is the best help one can do to keep a site like this alive...

As far as some of the other comments go, they should be telling you more than anyone else...

well, i just feel a certain amount of guilt ever since my pro status expired....NPR does this to me 2 or 3 times a year...and i'm a STRONG believer in supporting small communities.....i just wish i could do you better.

btw, why are we up so early, er, late?

Hell, I am up at 5:30 every morning getting the day in gear...

Feel no guilt about the pro membership, HRC is doing well enough to keep moving forward, everybody has their role, and yours is an valuable one. You ARE supporting the community whether you know it or not.

You are very welcome, friend, and you as well are a big part of my site. Having never met my wife still laughs when members of this site come up in conversation at home of things we discuss and stuff...she doesn't "get it". :-)

you rock man, thanks for beein' so cool, epically with my ***. you really have shown WAY more tolerance (very Christ like) towards me and and ppl that think like me than i'm used to....ya know, it's funny you're in the twin cities area *lets call that 'blue'* and my but is stuck smack in the middle of the 'red' area of the country.....

i wonder if that's a factor in why we think the way we do....ya know? like you're livin' in a "blue" state and i'm plop-smack-dead in the middle of the bible belt....ok wait, i can do better than that, not 'bible belt', but i'll say 'conservative belt'. kinda like Savage living in San Francisco....it really makes you look around and say..."holy crap, i'm surrounded by idiots" i wonder if that is a factor in our views...

seriously i was a die-hard Bush Sr. supporter (epically when he ran against a bunch of idiots)....i was "right wing" since my junior year at high school (circa '92), all the way until we attacked iraq....now i don't wanna turn this thread into that topic, but not 5 years ago, i REALLY REALLY believed 'they' (as in conservatives) were whole heatedly looking out for the best of 'us'. and i was every bit as outspoken about it as a am now...

i gotta admit i'm guilty of 'flip-floping'. iraq was the straw that broke my camel's back.

i dont mean to be "anti-this or anti-that" but that's all i have to go on.....it's hard to just pick a 'side' and run with it.....before and durring Clinton's, it was nothing but good times in america (now i must admit, i was at an age where i was VERY naive to global poloitcs) but when Bush Sr. puked in Japan, i really identified with him.

perot wanted to run the country as a business, which now that i think about it, that's how we do it anyway, so why not let someone who understands how to macro manage do it. but i liked Bush Sr., i loved Regan (again, i was not politically informed at the time) but still....i held that believe that every (or atleast most) countries looked up to us on issues of how to run a country.

that IS very beautiful, BUT....

here's my fear...if Hillary gets elected (which IS possible) we are in BIG trouble...

A: we're gonna be all proud of ourselves for electing a female president. (the pinko's)

B: Bill is gonna move back into the wite house and that's gonna create this whole "honey, trust me, i've done this before" thing...which effectively mean's the EXACT same thing as Bush Jr.....you know GHW Bush gives his 'fatherly' advice. well, it's gonna be the same thing...

it discusts me (to a small degree) that Bill Clinton will possibly get back on Air Force One and say something like "I'm back baby, did you miss me" ....and as a husband/wife team, he WILL have influence. then again, i donno, i'm starting to think She wears the pants in the household now.

the way i see it, bill got lucky and caught the tail end of a major boom in america...it dosn't matter who was in office, the country woulda progressed the same with or without him.

i thought dynasties and monarchies were what this country was getting away from!!!! sheesh!

i don't mean to ramble, but i'm drunk so deal with it....back to my original point, Dan, although we disagree alot on these such matter, i've NEVER felt any kinda "finger-pointing hostility" twards me and others here (although, you can be blunt/frank at times) but hey, it's your site, so if anyone has a problem, then just don't type it in your addy bar!

do you ever make other ppl read threads here?

dude! i'm known to grab ppl around me and make them read a thread on whatever issure (that roswell one was SUCH an intellectual treat!)

but from time to time i catch myself sayin' something to someone that has no idea about us and i'll be all "well, the other day on HRC, we were discussing this, and one of the members had some fantastic points)

like it's bad, my boss at the dupe/print/studio shop does NOT want to see HRC on my screen (but i do it anyway) my parents (bless their hearts) think i'll give their computer a virus by "chatting" online.

any let's plan out a 5th birthday and either hook up in some central city (i know, easier said than done) OR it's about time we have another site-wide colaboration.

Hanger-19 will forever be something i will look back on, and it's really not 'my solo' or anyone else chops, but it was something all of us made together, even though we've never looked into each others eyes.

gosh it's almost 11am!! my buzz is wearing of, but i'm feelin chatty......speaking of, when you got rid of the chatroom, was that just because nobody was really using it, or was it a resource/maintenance issue? i kinda miss it just for these times when nobody else is on.

i'm gonna go oldschool here...

PLUR

WOW, quite a thread for a drunk guy. :-)

Surrounding definitely affect attitude. Whats funny of the "blue state" thing, is that there are basically three blue counties (three that matter anyway) in the state, the rest are red. But the three blue ones are two of the most heavily populated and one that is the biggest square-mile wise. So they swing the whole state. But yes, being in IT and therefore commonly working in metropolitian areas until recently I am surrounded by liberals (read: "idiots":-) and what the talk and what they walk are often two extremely different things. I am not talking politicians of the mind set, but just normal folks like us.

I agree, if Hillary is elected we are screwed, and I DID vote for Perot, he has since went completely insane, and was borderline during his campaign, but I liked his gov't as business, cuz, like you say, it is anyway. That is why at this point I am a huge fan of Mit Romney...a phenomenal business background, great history of turning businesses around by cleaning huge, kicking *** a taking names.

I can't really be hard on ya, at your age, I pretty much was you...more than you may ever know.

Still gonna have a cherry bomb with ya some day ;-)

well, first thanks, i really understand what you mean, because at the bar, we just hired a 21 year old kid and is already tryin' to challange me to some sorta 'drinking contest', part of me wants to laugh when he's puking all over himself, but *holy ****, this is THE FIRST TIME i've ever said this* when i was his age, i thought the same too....and by all means, flick my ear from time to time, i can take it...

i'm not fimillar with Mit Romney at all so i can't really say anything about that.

here's my big take on the presidential race so far....Rudi, is really running on his 9/11 fame, i whole heartedly believe if that didn't happen, he wouldn't be in the republican primary.

on the left, yeah i'm just not feelin' comfortable with the clinton's back, like i said, bill had a good run ONLY because he was in the right place at the right time....a monkey could have run the country the same, it was like we were on curse control.

then you have Obama....and politics aside, i think his name alone will kill his chance....i can hear the slogans now (obama, for osama)...it sucks but that's the way it is.

now on the radio (on both sides of the radio dial.....wait! is that where "left vs. right comes from?) all i'm hearing is who raised the most money......i'm disappointed on both sides because (and i DO listen to right wing talk when NPR's not playin' classical) all i EVER hear is who's winning as far as who's raised the most money.

Are we that crazy! basically, it's comming down to who can spend the most on advertising and publicity stunts) .....what happened to 'good character' and 'strong leadership skills'????

EVERYONE is focusing on how much money (which is in record territory) the candidates raise. i understand if you have more cash, you can spread your word (read: influence) better, faster, easier, quicker.....but man, is THAT what we want to choose to be the deciding factor in what one person represents the whole country? i'm iffy on this upcomming election....i'm really thinking of not even bothering to vote for national politicians.....local politics affect my life more than who's president.

Just remember, if you don't vote, you can't ***** later.

Obama scares me, Clinton scares me more...Edwards, well, he's just a scumbag...I don't like the left this time, during primaries there is usually at least one I can sorta get with, but he usually gets ousted quickly...

well, yeah, i'm not hearing any democrat candidate say anything that makes me jump up and say "YEAH, THIS is who we need to get into office"

they are riding on the 'anti-bush' coat-tail.

which itself is silly, because he's out anyway.

i'm just now (as in today) starting to think, the president really dosn't have the 'power' of running the country. like he's got advisor's on every issue and THEY shape his views. BUT, i've watch the past 7 years beeing 'politically conscious' and voted Bush the first time (based SOLEY on the fact that i'd love to give Tipper Gore a golden shower, and i'll be darned if her husband gets elected because he's gotta listen to her views)....that and i did like bush senior, but i was young and dumb then (not knockin' Herbert but i really had no idea what was gooin' on politically) i just liked Dana Carvey's impression of him.

but i'm not seein' ANY momentum as far as the right wing preliminaries at ALL! both right and left wing radio is focusing on Hillery, and Obama.

i do think noone will stand up and say out loud "we need to pull out of the mid east 100%"

that would be political suicide....

brb i gotta pee...you gonna be up for awhile? this is fun

Well, I will try as steer this back for a moment into the original topic.

Indeed the threads pop up faster then ever, as well the post's commit quicker then ever when you hit the submit button. Very nicely done for sure, and many thanx to Joe for getting it done smoothly. No glitches seen here either yet, other then the one you and I talked about today dB. But that'll soon be remedied as well. I even tried bringing up a couple of the pages that had huge graphics content for with pix embedded and they loaded so much faster.

WYD, just to let you know. You are not alone in the fact that HRC is pretty much a one of a kind forum. For me staying and being here every day is just my way of paying back what I received in the past. And that my friend is what HRC is all about. A self supporting community of music minded peep's helping each other out when ever possible. I do notice you are there many times long before I get home from work, as well as others. But the help you dish out is always good, and if you make a boo boo you are the first one to admit it and not hide from the fact. That is a very good thing. And you always seem to be willing to do a little research if needed to point someone in the right direction.

AS for the other things in your life preventing Pro membership and such. Don't worry a whole lot about that either. Well maybe a little. But in the end those things will usually work themselves out and just the fact that you are willing to see it and talk about it is a huge thing to think about as being good.
