I noticed that in my folders there are a whole chit load of .wav files that do not need to be there. I think Audition literally keeps the takes you have deleted from the session, or maybe it's because I was choosing Close File instead of Delete for alot of takes I didn't like and tried to delete. I noticed in Sonar 6 there is a File cleanup selection that I am guessing removes any takes that are not ultimately being used. Does AA have something like this, or will I need to go through each song folder individually and delete the unused .wav's??

Mar 27, 2007 01:43 am There is a cleanup utility that an Audition 2 user wrote that is much like the one included with Sonar. I'll try to hunt down the link for it and post, or you can search the Adobe Audition forum for the link.

Mar 27, 2007 12:45 pm I found it. Audio File Cleaner is the name of the utility. Looks like this may do the trick. Thanks Olddog.
Mar 27, 2007 12:55 pm tossing the link in this thread might be helpful for others...

Mar 27, 2007 01:38 pm I searched the forums, I did not see it. I would be very interested in a link :)
Mar 27, 2007 02:51 pm I'm using 1.5, and the site says that utility isn't proven with 1.5, but let me know how it works out.
I must admit I'm a little leery of a freeware file deleter.

Mar 27, 2007 05:42 pm I'll test it on some BS folders on a standalone PC I have and let you know.
Hehe, freeware file deleter does indeed sound a little intimidating :)

Mar 27, 2007 08:06 pm I think there are some AA 1.5 users that use it, but it is intended for AA 2.0. AA 1.5 really doesn't need a file cleanup util like 2.0 does since it doesn't create a new file for every take. It works well with 2.0, just follow the directions, and with the option to just move the unused files of session to an archive folder, you can always go that route till you're sure the files are no longer needed.

Mar 30, 2007 09:27 am Bummer, it didn't work for me. When I press the button to process the deletion I get an error that say Tprogress Bar out of limit or something like that. Nothing gets deleted at that point.
