Toneport UX2 ???

I'm new to recording so bear with me. This question probably pertains to any audio interface but I'm leaning towards the UX2 because of a previous post pjk so helpfully replied to. I just want to understand how this works.
guitar>ux2>usb cable>computer>gear box software for modeling>recording software>usb cable>ux2>monitors or headphones
Is that correct and if so... is it correct that when I strum the guitar I will hear it through the monitors or headphones at the same time with the modeling applied?
If not... how does it work?

Yes that is how it works
You will hear the guitar part you are performing with whatever modeling you choose to apply.
This is also what will be recorded.
