setting up my new rack unit and bass amp...connectivity

Hey, I just ordered a bunch of equipment. Here's what is on its way to my house:

Ampeg SVT 3 Pro (rack mount bass amp head)
Ampeg SVT 610 HLF (6x10 bass amp cabinet)
BBE 482i Sonic Maximizer (rack processor)

and then I have a rackmount tuner as well.

I'm wondering what cables i should use and how to set all this up. By "what cables" i mean instrument or speaker cables.

The amp has a "tuner out" so i'm assuming all I need to do for that is use an instrument cable from that to my tuner. I'm not sure how I should go about with the sonic maximizer and the amp. Should my bass go into the sonic maximizer and then out from there to the amp head then to the cab? Or should my bass go into the head, then out to the sonic maximizer and then out to the cab?

Should I be using the "Speak-on" outputs and buy special cables or will regular speaker cables work?

P.S. I know the sonic maximizer can only take a line level input.

if you could help. that'd be great. Thanks.

The only place you use speaker cables is going from the amp to the speakers, everything else should be shielded instrument cables.

Does the amp head have an effects loop? If so, use it for the maximizer.

And the tuner will go in between the bass and the amp input. Other then that it sounds like you have all bases covered.

agreed except i'd put the tuner in the fx loop before the sonic maximizer...i'm not sure if that tuners inputs are designed for insturment level signals....get it up to line level with the head's preamp.

my 16 bits

wyd

ps that's a good rig ya got there....my bud plays the exact same rig, only now he's got the 8 10 cab....the difference is amazing...but throw a good Sting Ray or P-Bass at it, and it's damn near impossible NOT to get a good tone.

My back just gave a twinge thinking of all the gigs I hauled my 8x10 to.

Excellent tone.
Put wheels on it....get a roadie...........

Yeah, I remember my double bass stack, two 15" bottom, 4x10 top, cabs made of 1" thick board...heavy as hell...I then grew up and realized a little Ampeg combo with biamped 15" and 8" sounded just as good coming out of the PA and the stage amp was just for the band monitoring itself anyway...gigging was more fun after that realization.
