Exporting in Cubase LE with the EMU 0404 card?

Ok, I have my board set up playing this midi using my Korg X50's sounds, now when I got to Export and choose Audio Mixdown in MP3, it'll play the song while recording but it doesn't record anything, the MP3 is silent - This 0404 has turned out to be one tricky card. Anyone got any info? Thanks

Which DAW software are you using?
The problem I see (and I may be wrong) is that you possibly are trying to record MIDI as an MP3. MIDI is just a code, and not audio. This is possibly why your MP3 is silent. Usually the DAW programs have an option to convert MIDI tracks to audio. It's the audio you need to record. If you're just using your keyboard's sounds you could record as audio via audio cables.

Oh, and the card is quirky, but not too bad. I've been very happy with mine. Get the latest firmware for it. Keeping the drivers up to date is berry important.

Your computer doesn't have anything to record. The computer is only working with MIDI data, like TC says. All the sound is coming out of the X50, so it's got to get back into the computer, as audio somehow.

If you were using the PC to create the sounds, like a softsynth, or soundfont, then you could do what you're trying - export, audio mixdown - but if there's no audio to mix down, then, well, there you go.

Plug cables from the X50 back into the computer's inputs, and record only from those inputs (stereo would be my choice). You should be able to get a stereo track in your PC that-a-way.

I guess I just re-gurgitated what TallChap said, but, oh well, there you go =).

Ok will do, I just thought it would record my X50 playing the midi with it's real sounds but it didn't. I think I understand y'all, I will give it a shot, thanks for replying! This forum is very helpful
