Well, the Packers get their second loss and play the Lions next week...if they have a chance of a win this year, I suspect next week will be one of the better chances.
Redskins got trounced, watched a lot of it, TO sucked (or at least the part of the game I saw) and dropped many decent passes but the Cowboys pulled it out anyway.
Vikings have one of the sloppiest wins ever handed to them by what must be a league record in stupid plays by Carolina defensive play Gamble, who I think might likely be released today simply for being an idiot trying to be a hero and loosing a game they virtually had locked up. I gotta say tho, Brad Johnson is a tough son of a *****, he was getting hammered all day long and kept gettin back up.
Miami, whom I watch with morbid curiousity due to their signing of Daunte Culpepper, fell to 0-2-0 yesterday after he was sacked 7 times and had one interception. Says Culpepper: "We've got to step up and stop doing the things we're doing that put us in the position we're in."---no kidding?
That's about all the football I watched over the weekend, any other good snippets or stats?
I am winning my FF game so far, but my opponent has one player playing tonight, ynless he gets over 15 points (which he shouldn't) I'll be on a one game winning streak :-)

Sep 18, 2006 07:31 am Baltimore def is saving my ***...
Sep 18, 2006 07:39 am It's so much easier watching the Packers this year, knowing that they will probably lose. There are no false hopes that maybe this time they'll pull it out. I had a great time watching football yesterday! Brett Favre had a pretty good game, considering the fact that his offensive line is essentially a bunch of rookies who have no clue who they're supposed to block.
We didn't get the Viking game this week...same time as Packers. I did see the highlights, and I would agree that it was one of the stupidest plays I have ever seen.
FF ain't lookin' too good for me this week. My opponent has Eli Manning. Enough said.
Sep 18, 2006 09:13 am vikings game was good. chris gamble for carolina said "here you go take this game from us" with his bonehead lateral on that punt return. great fake FG call for the vikes. if only players were docked major pay for bonehead mistakes. :D

Sep 18, 2006 09:26 am Steelers play tonight. Jaguars....oooh...should be a tough game.
I watched a bit of the Chargers game, but it got a bit silly. What a defense.
The Redskins/Cowboys game was quite enjoyable, the Dallas defense is pretty good, and teams will do well not to underestimate them. Lost count of the sacks. TO was double teamed the whole game.
The Vikings/Panthers game will be in the newsreels for some time. That was a totally unacceptable play.
The Seahawks long bomb touchdown will also see some heavy coverage. Thing of beauty.
The Raiders look even worse than they did last week! How does that happen?
Don't do FF.
Steelers by 7.
Sep 18, 2006 09:29 am The Raiders suck!

Sep 18, 2006 10:20 am OHIO STATE could beat the raiders.

Sep 18, 2006 10:39 am A true heartbreaker with the Chiefs losing in OT against the Denver Donkies. We held their offense in check with much greater success than ever in the Vermiel era. I guess either their sputtering offense or Edward's philosophy helped keep the game close. The last few times we've played Denver in Denver, we've scored like 30 points and still lost. So a defensive struggle was a change of pace.
Great fantasy week. As of this morning I'm leading the league in points, although there are still a few teams close to me in points that still have people to play tonight. But all tallies are in for my match this week and I'm looking at a 2-0 start!
No injuries! No injuries! No injuries!
I had a bunch of yard work to do this weekend so I didn't get my full dose of football.
Sep 18, 2006 11:08 am I just read in the paper that the stupid lateral play was a CALLED play!
What an idiot coach!
Whats with the Bronco's coach, does his facial expression ever change?

Sep 18, 2006 05:09 pm Well it looks like I got my back end handed to me. But I can see why. I submitted changes on Tuesday and they didnt take effect at all, I ended up with Detroit staying as my defense and Portis who is benched as a RB, no points there. Owens just plain sucked and my kicker ended up on the injured list but played some and got me a couple points.
So I guess I will fall down the list now.

john fox is far from being an idiot coach. idiot coaches dont make it to the super bowl(03) and nfc championship (05). i cant believe he made that call, he said he just got greedy.
Sep 19, 2006 12:14 pm True, not an idiot coach, but an idiot call for sure.
Sep 19, 2006 02:06 pm well he is a defensive minded guy. :D i can see if your down a couple scores and are trying to get something going maybe trying a reverse on a punt return but to put the ball in the air? that rarely works out even if its excuted properly.
Sep 19, 2006 04:31 pm A defensive minded guy would have ordered them to fall on the ball and run time off the clock...
Sep 21, 2006 05:19 am the steelers did not play on monday. that was some other team.

Sep 21, 2006 06:29 pm Sad thing is I picked them in the football pool last week. And like an idiot I picked them again this week. I'm a glutten for punishment.

Sep 22, 2006 10:52 am Hey fantasy footballers:
Don't forget that this is the first week where some teams have bye weeks. So check your rosters and don't start anybody that's having a bye week this week!
This is where we start to see who the dead-beats are in the league :)

Sep 22, 2006 08:24 pm I don't know man, the Bengals look pretty sharp lately. Plus Palmer is my fantasy QB so I'll be rooting for him whole-heartedly. And I picked up Houshmandzedah off the waver wire so lots of Cinci touchdown passes is what I'll be cheering for :D
Oh crap, my opponent has Cinci's kicker, so for every PAT he'll gain a point on me. I'll be booing the point after attempts and field goals Sunday hahaha!
Sep 23, 2006 04:09 pm the bengals look VERY sharp. i was in awe two weeks ago when i caught a little of the game. but as a steeler fan, i have to believe that they turn themselves on this week.
i thought Housh was out for this game.

Sep 24, 2006 07:27 pm Well, I got screwed again. Yahoo board failed to move the players I moved on Thursday, Owens of course had a bye and I wanted to switch out another player and my defense. So I'm completely screwed again for week 3, unless I get really lucky. But the stats arent up yet so I dont know how bad it was.
And ya, I the the correct buttons to save the chnanges.

Sep 27, 2006 06:55 pm Well that sucked. I go from 3rd in the rankings to 11th.
And now TO is trying to off himself. I might as well set myself to finish last at this rate, unless I can find me a couple good players to grab from waivers or whatever.
Sep 28, 2006 02:58 pm In my work league of 12 teams I have the 3rd highest points but I am last with a 0-3 record. Everyone has a record week when the play me.

Sep 29, 2006 09:26 pm Well I think I'll just take it and see if I can be the biggest loser of the season. At least I know I'm good at that for the moment.
