Sep 03, 2006 10:31 pm KVR, there isnt a ton of stuff out there for the Mac but they do have a pretty good selection. Simply choose your pluggin preferances and OS and it will ssearch out what you are looking for. Some are rated whether they are good or bad.
Here is the direct link to the pluggin search page.

Sep 05, 2006 10:08 am I love Voxengo OLDSKOOLREVERB. Not sure if they have a Mac version...
Sep 12, 2006 02:50 pm are these safe to download? I don't want spyware, adware or viruses, and I know that freeware generally carries all of the above. And are they all compatible with Pro Tools? I don't have a VST to RTAS converter or anything.

Sep 12, 2006 07:11 pm KVR is a well known and highly respected site. I doubt they will allow such a thing to exist. If something like that ever happened they would immediately remove the offending link.
As for not having a converter. Well sorry to say but there are not really any free RTAS pluggins available out there. I have done exhaustive searches and the ones that are supposed to be free are all tied into PT one way or another. You see they dont want to give anything away that they can charge moeny for.
Sep 13, 2006 05:46 pm and there's probably no free VST to RTAS converter, right? Someone gave me a link for FXspansion, but it's like $400. Are plugins really so expensive that it pays to get the converter? God damn music is expensive.

Sep 14, 2006 09:03 pm No, there is nothing FREE when it comes to dealing with ProTools!
I'm not sure how you got the idea it is $400.00 when it is only $99.00 on their website.
And yes, getting things for free isnt alwasy free. And I have preached day in and day out on this site about the expensive nature of ProTools. Does anyone listen. I doubt it. But they will listen to some salesman or whomever they think is UP on what is The Best.
It isnt the best anymore by a long shot. But it is the most expensive paltform out there for a DAW.
Sorry to rant, but when I hear someone complain about how much PT pluggins cost and if they want to use free VST pluggins they gotta pay a hundred bucks for a converter. It kind of irratates me.
And I'll be honest. A good majority of my VST and DX pluggins and software synths were definately not cheap. But if you want the good stuff, your gonna have to pay for it.
But I have made tons of good music with the free stuff as well.
