SonarLE Issues, really disrupting my projects...

Ok, well I am using SonarLE as my DAW and in this particular project I have 3-5 DXi's from project5 running. I can work on the project for maybe 10-15 minutes and then an error message comes up and my project closes and all unsaved data is lost. It keeps doing this every time I try to work on something and the message is not clear, it just says error and then a bunch of random code and stuff.

My computer is plenty fast (specs in profile) and the cpu usage never really goes above 15% in this current project. So its nothing obvious like that. I have no clue why it keeps doing this. If anyone has the slightest clue, please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Have you asked Cakewalk about this? Since it's LE I assume it's a bundled app that came with your sound card or something, correct? if so, you'll likely have to ask the company that bundled it.

Yes, it came in a bundle with my sound card. I should go ask cakewalk. I guess I didn't think of it because the app has always run fine and still does on my other PC but when I got a bunch of DXi's recently, it seems like they are the culprit but even if that were what makes it crash, I wouldnt know how to resolve that other than the painstaking process of re-installing everything perhaps.

When it's a bundled app, the support is almost always up to the sound card maker, not the sodftware maker, as it's part of the hardware package. Call E-MU (if thats the card it came with) oh, and good luck with that, they are under the Creative umbrella, ain't they?

Goldenmean, you might want to make sure you have P5 updated to the durrent update as well if you are running it ReWired, not sure LE allows that.

As well if any of the DXi's are freebies or non cakewalk ones try looking to see if they have any current updates as well. I just went through this with a couple of my favorite freeby softsynths and it turned out a windows update clobbered something in the VSTi and the maker of course had an update that fixed it.

NOt sure if that is the problem or not but its worth a try.

hmm, you could very well be right Noize. None of the DXi's are freebies, I am using the ones from P5 and also Motu Symphonic Instrument.

Usually I check for updates but I don't believe I have updated any of the software in question from the time of purchase. brain fart I guess. I dont know if thats the problem, but I will surely give that a try, thanks.

Ya, I'm not certain that is it but it is worth a try. Have you just tried to use project 5 strictly for the project and see if you can stack them up without any problems?

Well I looked for updates, but I already have the latest for Motu symphonic Orchestra. Then SonarLE has no updates or patches, and I could only find 2 updates for P5 that only pertained to the user interface of Dimension and another DXi.

I think it may just be a bug and maybe I have to re-install everything and give that a try....(pain in the *** with the huge files...)

I could try stacking in P5 too and see what happens. I'm not sure if SonarLE has its own problems with handeling alot of things since its stripped down..

I guess I would try that in P5 then to see if it is just in LE and its limitations.
