What do you all think of this Audio Interface?? One thing I noticed is the fact that it is non-mixer related, it has just one channel volume involved and thats it. Is there a better way to record multiple instruments simulataneously, like maybe a mixer that does what the Firepod does, which is allowing the PC to have 8 or more Inputs and Outputs available to the DAW??

Aug 23, 2006 10:07 pm Be careful before purchase about your computer specifications. I bought it to use with a computer that has Windows SP2 as the default pack, and despite various registry editing and driver installing I could never get it to work.

Aug 24, 2006 07:29 am I built my system to do my Home Recording and in order to use Adobe Audition 2.0 I had to install WinXP for it to run. The WinXP I bought was already SP2. After I installed it I immediately went to Microsoft.com and did all of the updates. My firepod has been flawless and works beautifully with my version of WinXP SP2.... is there a SP3 out yet?? I'm wondering if when I Dl'ed the updates if there was a SP3 thats why I am not having the problems everyone else with SP2 speaks of. I would check, but I'm not at home to look at what version I am running.
Aug 24, 2006 07:32 am I don't believe SP3 exists yet...
Maybe you are just lucky :-)

Aug 24, 2006 07:12 pm I am pretty sure you just happen to have perfectly compatable hardware on your mother board. The chipset that controls the firewire on your mobo is usually the culprit when the FirePod doesnt want to work with the system. That and certain video chipsets as well can throw the FirePod drivers for a loop someties. So I would be guessing your system is completely compatable with their specs, and that is why you didn't have any issues.
