So some of you may remember me saying that I've only ever completed two mixes in my life.
My first ever in 1999 using a dr550, and awe64 and a PC mic was recently found on my backup cd's. It is quite laughable as I had no idea how to use the DR550, but I did my best to program every beat by hand. I think I'm gonna redo this song, the drums were boring but the song basis might turn out cool if reworked.
It's under my profile which I still don't know how to link to.

Jul 27, 2006 04:14 pm Ha sounds cool Tripps. I'm listening on little 1/2 " laptop speakers so everything sounds like dung.
I saw that your from Alaska in your profile with a band. I'm curious though hows the local music scene up there?
Either way I think everyone here can agree that you've improved since your last mix. ha

Jul 27, 2006 04:22 pm I think the 1/2" speakers have nothing to do with it. It's straight up dung baby!!!
AK Music scene. A few cool bands that I really enjoy. Some great punk acts. And a bunch of lame screamo bands that are just now catching onto something that started 10 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I love some heavy, I just want to be able to tell the difference between bands without actually seeing their faces. Check out my myspace and you can hear some of the ones I like as they are listed in the top8. The Scurvies, Stuntcok and 1Enemy3 are some of my favs you can give a listen if interested.

Jul 27, 2006 09:36 pm Tripps, I'll be checking it out tommorrow.
Jul 28, 2006 09:19 am I'll be checking it out in a minute too. I just saw The Refused - The Shape of Punk to Come listed on your website. I just wanted to add that that's an amazing CD. Completely blew my mind the first time I heard it and I've never been a big hardcore/screamo fan. I love to hear stuff like that which pushes the envelope. Good stuff.

Jul 28, 2006 07:10 pm First off, that is a cool tune really. Loved the wah parts. Are you sure that was a cheap plasitc PC mic? It doesnt sound all that bad. Agree the drums sound programmed, but definately not hideous by any stretch. I think this one is definatley worth the revisit, very heavy yet got a good moving vibe to it.

Jul 28, 2006 07:21 pm yeah, that's pretty good. I dig the beginning and when the main guitar comes in. I agree with everyone else... revist that tune!
