i come back to the studio after being away for 2 days and Nuendo won't open, not to mention Nuendo tech support is pretty much non-existant...

after i double click the icon, the little screen comes up and i watch all the plug-ins and what not load...then it gets to the part where it says "Global Settings" and the screen just goes away and the program doesnt open...no error message or anything...what could be causing this out of nowhere?

... I have no idea, but I would reccomend running a virus scan.

IS it possible your PC ran an update while you were away? Sometimes and update of windows or other software/hardware can cause a problem like this.

Otherwise, as Loki stated definately give it a good virus scan. A virus or Trojan can lay dormant and trigger from any number of things. Like a shutdown and reboot for one. Or it can even count a certain number of reboots or whatever before triggering.

You might even try and do a roleback/restore to a known good point on the machine.

Oh yes, the dreaded dongle. That is the main reason I wont ever use any of those programs again. I could not stand the hassle of the dongle malfunctioning at the most inconveniant times.
